Give me pan fried lake trout over a burger any day! Hahahaha
diggitydougity42
4 lake trout over 30lbs! And we release all fish over 10lbs and keep the smaller ones, the 3-10lb ones are so delicious!

Just might have to do that. Can be the transporter for hikers and staff around the island in the Hewescraft

Thanks! It’s a longish exposure of some birch and poplar trees. I move my camera up to down and create this “landscape painting” with the technique!

We come from Grand Portage

Thanks Ray! One more trip out there first weekend of October hope to run into you

Got our limit of lakers on the last trip! In my opinion, lakers out of these waters are the best tasting fish in the world (and I say that after a lot of taste testing lol). Little bit of corn startch with dill, lawreys, and Italian fried in olive oil and better is pure heaven

We go out of grand portage. Was a nice ride out but coming back yesterday we had 4-8 foot seas. Take it easy and you’ll be safe!
diggitydougity42
If you like to fish 10 hours day come on with!
diggitydougity42
At least 3 nights! Most time it’s 5-6 days (4-5 nights) tho
diggitydougity42
Move shoot move NOMAD I love it!

1.5” exposure ISO 3200 f2,8
diggitydougity42
Ahaha I like that one, thanks!
diggitydougity42
That’s a good idea! I know nobody is out on the island yet. But hopefully for warm weather, the lake is still 33-37° for water temp so that’ll keep the island relatively chilly

I’ve been looking at daily satellite imagery, also I have a cabin on the north shore of Minnesota near grand portage. It’s not identical to isle royale but similar enough so I assume that isle royale is 2-3 weeks behind the mainland for snow melt

Nice have fun! I will be going up end of June and then July August September and one final time in October. Still a lot of snow on the island so bring some good waterproof boots!

Sure is a great spot in the early season Milky Way run!
