This question comes up every once in a while and virtually everyone in this sub is going to say, don't bother with that. Read the wiki. You can DIY it.

And objectively that is probably the best advice.

That being said, a few years ago I changed careers, got a major income boost, and felt like I had no idea what I was doing. I was coming off of 10 years being paycheck-to-paycheck in the restaurant industry. I paid a financial advisor a one time fee for a review of my financial life, and to make for me a 5 year plan.

I learned a lot, and so much faster than I would have on my own. I just finished the 5 year plan by comfortably buying a house, knowing I can afford it. I can confidently say I wouldn't be in the same position without the advice I paid for. Totally worth it for me.

You have to decide for yourself if that sounds worth it.

If you do seek out an advisor make sure they are a fiduciary (meaning they are legally required to operate with your best interest in mind. They're not just a salesperson.) and they are fee only. (meaning you pay them a fee for their time and not a % of what's in your accounts to manage them)

edit: a word

And we've got the best internet provider in the whole damn country! https://mynextlight.com/about/press-and-awards/

Come on up to Longmont! In addition to being pretty walkable downtown we've got the best internet in the country! XD https://mynextlight.com/about/press-and-awards/

Wait, wtf?

I have all of that. Acid reflux, regular shoulder/back pain, and the whole sleeping partially upright with tons of pillows.

What actually may that all mean?

digiur

Did the title always say that? I swear it just said "Oldest Surviving Liquid" full stop when I wrote that comment.

Maybe I just can't read...

digiur

What does "Oldest surviving liquid" actually even mean? Surely something like the ocean is older than this wine?

digiur

This is more accurate than I think you realize! That's about what "training" is. Averaging it all out, basically.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2 is an underrated gem! I highly recommend it.

*for the prestige ;)

The Irish Potato famine happened in 1850. Less than 200 years ago. The end of the "Vikings were pillaging" era was about 1000 AD. Over a thousand years ago. Two very different amounts of time to describe both as "from that long ago"

What magnetic blocks!? Are they invisible? How is it floating there? I have so many questions lol

Nextlight is great! One of my favorite parts about living in Longmont for sure. It's constantly winning awards.

This is actually full-circle back to where the modern style food trucks began. (Not counting than the older-school roach-coach style of trucks) Gourmet food trucks started during the 2008 recession when displaced high-end chefs started buying up trucks as a cheaper alternative to brick and mortar restaurants. https://ij.org/report/food-truck-truth/a-brief-history-of-food-trucks/

This is wrong. Both secondary, and college education levels have been steadily rising in the US since WWI. https://educationdata.org/education-attainment-statistics

Wouldn't need to buy out excel in a giant one time buyout. We just out-compete. Platt river power authority is doing great! https://prpa.org/

I'm unreasonably mad that you make *11* meatballs. Not evenly divisible by any number of people more than one.

The first phase of the Coco train is already funded without RTD:

3 round trips Denver to Fort Collins 8 stations: Denver Union Station, Westminster, Broomfield, Louisville, Boulder, Longmont, Loveland, and Fort Collins

The second phase would connect all the way to Pueblo. That's the part that needs a tax measure on the ballot.

digiur

They address this in the video. I'm not saying it's morally or ethically right, but if the seller filed a lien on the business for the value of the collection they would be on more firm legal footing.

For #2 They had expired sales tags out. This is actually totally a thing nationwide and is now an illegal bait and switch in Colorado as of Nov 2025... Make a complaint to the Attorney General

National News Story

"At times, Kroger’s sale tags don’t clearly disclose that a discount offer has ended. In some instances expiration dates are listed in small print and in others they are noted in a corporate code that is not clear to people who are not Kroger employees. Some customers catch the problem at checkout or when they go over their receipts, but workers and union officials said many busy shoppers don’t notice the overcharges.

Local Story

The investigation was spurred by Kroger workers in Colorado, "who are currently in labor union negotiations with the company and were alleging widespread errors on price labels — a problem they say has been going on for years and that Kroger is aware," according to the Consumer Reports story, which claimed the chain "has also been called out by state inspectors for high rates of price tag errors."

The article addresses this. It's ~13% increase in the taxes because the value used to calculate the taxes went up by much more than that.

What is this weird definition of alternative? Of course an IPhone 12 is an alternative to the 10.

digiur

The best place to start in my opinion is the 10 year old laptop sitting in the closet for free! lol

You'll learn your personal use patterns and actually have a baseline for comparison for when you do upgrade.

I think you'd be fine with this though.

digiur

You'll also get a ticket for passing on the right too though yes?

I feel like people in the US complain about "left lane campers" but then will also pass in the right lane like it's nothing. You can't have both people.
