It's because Starscream's first major appearance in ES framed him as an abuse victim at the hands of Megatron which was pure catnip for the majority of Starscream fans.

The Canon vs Fanon crap is definitely an issue in most of the Transformers series. First one that comes to mind though is Earthspark, especially with Starscream. Fanon would have you believe that Starscream in ES is a poor baby that did nothing wrong and his actions in S2 were a result of mind control. Except that the show literally states that Starscream in universe has a reputation for being a scheming back stabber. But nope, most of the fanbase just ignores that part.

Art definitely plays a factor in enjoying a game for me. I've been burned so many times while browsing Steam seeing art that catches my eye, and then discovering the actual game graphics are nothing like the artwork.
Sandrock's art is pretty much the visual equivalent of nails on a chalkboard for me. The demo's on Steam right now so I decided to try it since despite the art, I do like the idea of the game. I played for a few hours and deleted it because I couldn't get into it between messing with my inventory and the art didn't grow on me at all.
My Time at Evershine looks more visually appealing to me.

Depends on the game. For instance, I consider myself done with a playthrough of SDV after I complete Skull Cavern. I've never bothered with Ginger Island.
In general, the mining and combat aspects of farming games is what appeals to me the most. It's rare that I bother with the social part of it unless I really like the characters like in Fields of Mistria and Little Known Galaxy. I don't really bother with decorating either.

IMO the writing for Earthspark was mediocre even in S1. The show had great ideas, but sloppy execution for pretty much everything, especially Megatron's 'redemption' and how the themes were handled.
I'm curious what the budget was post S1 because there were clearly a lot of issues.

I've been eyeing this game for a while since it sounds perfect for me. However, I'm not a fan of the aesthetic so maybe playing the demo will change my mind.

I'm also not a fan of how clunky the movement feels. I love the idea and look of the game, but getting around to do anything is a hassle.

Anna and Mikuru have been bland (both characterization and design) from the start so it's not hard for other characters to outshine them.

This show wouldn't get the hype it does if it wasn't for Arcana Shadow. I like her, the Phantom Thieves, Jet, and now Kurea. If none of them were in it, I would've dropped the show a long time ago. We're past the halfway point of the show and our leads can literally be summed in a few bullet points at most. Obviously there's still time for the show to actually do something with Anna and Mikuru, but waiting until almost the end of the show to do that is sloppy writing.

I legit went "HOLD UP?!" when I was scrolling and saw Le Chevalier D'eon in the title. This was one of the first anime I collected when I got into the hobby in the mid 2000s. I still have the ADV box set sitting on my shelf.
It's been years since I watched the series, but I remember it being brutal at points. The historical aspect is what caught my eye.

When I first started playing, I made it a point to do all the events, but now? I've gone weeks where the only thing I do is log in to get the Moonstones. FOMO isn't a concern for me now because I realized I was putting too much pressure on myself to get everything done.
Besides, IMO most of the time it's not worth playing new content right away because of bugs.

I know most people already said the writers/animation change post S1, but while that was definitely a problem, it's not the biggest one. IMO the show would've fared much better if it stuck to the production bible instead of turning into a Tumblr/IDW-lite fanfic.

I enjoy the show, but not enough to read the LNs or the manga. IMO it's enjoyable and engaging enough to pass the time, but I already know I'll never rewatch it again. The characters just don't have that sort of pull for me.

I noticed it's been taking me longer to find chests for the last week or so. I used to play in the morning before work and be able to find the chest within a few minutes. Now it doesn't appear until later in the day if it appears at all. TBH it's becoming a pain to log in everyday in the hopes that the chest might appear.

Gaiman is an author I could never get into even before the news about him being a terrible person. I had the same thoughts as you about unlikable characters and that smug vibe.
dippy_bear
IMO it would've been better if it was at least 2 books. I remember getting past 200 pages and feeling like I was reading a summary of a sequel.

I read the first Muderbot and liked it so I tried The Cloud Roads. The world building was interesting, but I didn't like any of the characters.

I tried years ago, but I couldn't get into it.

I've read a few of Austen's works, but not Emma. I just never had the desire to read it.

Despite not enjoying the 3 books I mentioned by her (though I'm thinking about giving Cranford another try), I do want to try something else from her.

I have The Sarantine Mosiac sitting on my shelf but haven't read it yet. I loved The Last Light of the Sun which came after SM so I'm hoping the experience will be enjoyable.

I had trouble with that too. Ironic thing is that it's usually raining in my game when I log in so it was very annoying when it suddenly didn't rain AT ALL for like a week.

My daily thing is logging in to find the moonstone chest and checking stalls (mainly Kristoff's and Tiana's). I purposely let debris like night thorns, etc. pile up right before a new update drops so I can do leveling with the new character(s). I always clean up the Plaza since it's a small area though.

450 hours on Steam Deck after a year of playing.
Despite being a fan of Campfire Cooking, I'm indifferent to Dora-chan to the point I had to look up his name because I couldn't remember it lol. My problem is that Dora isn't really notable. IMO Fel and Sui have designs, mannerisms, and a dynamic that's entertaining to watch. Dora doesn't have any of that going for him.
