Tunnel Falls?

Would be even greater with more food vendors next time. The tamale place sold out within a couple hours!

Seattle?

diptripflip

I was parked in my car and thought it was the wind. 😂

diptripflip

What site am I on…

diptripflip

A paddle formation! I love it!

diptripflip

Almost means it’s being cut with something else, and JBS supplies McDonald’s.

Handicapped people are part of us as well.

diptripflip

Hey! It’s me from the other thread. 😂 I actually agree with you here. Looks like we’re in the minority.

I’ve worked similar teachers, I’m not doubting you. I’m sure you work with similar assholes in your profession. It doesn’t make sense to me, however, to be unsympathetic to an entire profession because of negative examples.

I’d be curious to know more about what was required from teachers for this STEM initiative, because I can tell you that as a teacher who actually puts in the work, hates tech in the classroom, etc., I don’t have a bough planning time to keep up with the bare minimum.

I’m from an at-will red state, the same thing happens there. There are crappy teachers everywhere. The contracts have nothing to do with that.

Most teachers are trying to educate their students. If you don’t want tech in the classroom, YOU have to pressure the district/state. They don’t listen to teachers.

Thank you for replying. I’m having the same thoughts. For the price point, I was expecting better functionality. I watched several videos but in person it just doesn’t make sense to me.

The lady of the house speaking!

diptripflip

No. 😔

More, please!!!

Most commercial seafood is flash frozen when caught to kill parasites, regardless of where the product is going.

Please don’t withdraw money from your 401k. The tax penalties are enormous. I did it over a decade ago and I regret it to this day.

In some states you can start teaching with any master’s degree. I would recommend doing that to get a taste of what it’s like to work with today’s children in today’s school systems. I say this as a current teacher. This will also give you an opportunity to observe the school librarian from the periphery and see what that role is actually like in your area. In my area, the librarian is part of the Specials rotation for all grades, and if one Specials teacher isn’t present she takes on extra students or they all combine for PE. She has also been the testing administrator, which means she’s in charge of coordinating the absolute nightmare that is local and state testing. She is also the sped/504 coordinator, which means she’s tracks all those cases, paperwork, schedules the meetings, and attends all the ARDs.

As others have said, the librarian position is one of the first to go when cuts are made.

For all these reasons, I would caution you against withdrawing from your 401K to pursue this at the moment.

Hello, Cutie.

I’m also thinking of transferring to a hybrid program. I miss the classroom dynamic.

I disagree. This conversation is so weird to me because it speaks to how alcohol dependent people and social gatherings have become. If your enjoyment of a social event is influenced by whether or not alcohol is available, that’s concerning. It’s one event, not a lifetime commitment to being sober.

diptripflip

Yeah, as a teacher this argument drives me insane so I’m happy you’ve abandoned it. It’s like withholding treatment when someone’s cancer gets more aggressive. Failing schools need more help, not less. More support staff like TAs, more SPED workers, more money to pay teachers for after hours tutoring, more money for programming that will actually enrich the students’ lives, make school more enjoyable, and therefore open their minds for more money. Withholding money is such a boomer, shame-based move.

diptripflip

Are you a teacher, by any chance?

diptripflip

You’re delusional. The union in Texas has no teeth, and the problem with education in Texas, hell, the US, has nothing to do with union actions.

diptripflip

I will never need it because I have absolutely no desire to ever be in charge of adults or lead an organization. At all.

In my area (Dallas ISD) school librarians are treated as auxiliary staff. They are 504 coordinators, SPED coordinators, and testing coordinators. They run ARDS so they have to cancel specials to prepare and be present at those meetings. They proctor secure tests and are responsible for makeup sessions. They run arrivals and dismissal. Principals are not interested in the slightest in what the library has to offer in terms of traditional services, let alone new opportunities for collaboration and student engagement.
