Sorry guys, not an American, which may or may not explain my hot take, but since it’s NYC, and since you guys are so allergic to taxes, why not just get the corporations to merge CSR and GCR, and give them tax breaks for contributions to improving parks, libraries and schools?

The thing with Kyalami is that the SA economy isn’t doing so well, and paying big cash monies to host a race with all the social issues going on there would be problematic to say the least…..

F1 raced in Brazil at a ‘tricky’ time though, and people loved watching Senna race….. The closest driver to being African is also Hadjar, but/and I don’t know if any support for him has been gauged in sub-Saharan Africa….

Fair point, but the issue is more about the experiencing another culture because you crossed a border in Europe, and not experiencing anything else because the US is so big and ‘there’s just so much to see’.

A lot of Americans’ first trips abroad are Canada, and that’s not so different unless one is going to Quebec City, St. John’s or Banff to a small extent.

And there’s the slowly resolving issue of US passport uptake….
