“As little as possible”

I knew I was a rooster before, but only just learned the associated element was earth.

I’m a dirtcock.

Dick in the dirt? Chicken of the Soil?

So many times some disaster like that has been our fault because we weren’t paying attention - and then something comes along no human could dodge and we blame ourselves out of habit. Sometimes shit just happens and there’s nothing anyone can do for it.

Cars can be replaced. Glad you are well enough to grouse about it. Complaining is a luxury only afforded to the quick.

They should have a contractor bond posted with the local authority having jurisdiction. You can file a claim against the bond for failure to perform on their contract.

Be sure to contact the relevant permitting office with the falsified permits as well - they won’t like their permits being faked one bit and will have something to say to the contractor.

There’s a gag about how different branches interpret “secure”.

Consider orangutans. In all the worlds graced by their presence, it is suspected that they can talk but choose not to do so in case humans put them to work, possibly in the television industry. In fact they can talk. It’s just that they talk in Orangutan. Humans are only capable of listening in Bewilderment.

Why should we be any better than the general population at introspection just because we’re extra sensitive to what’s out there?

When I get feedback - especially if it’s deserved - it just sucks more for me than for other people. Doubly so if it was something I was blind to but saw because of the feedback. Sometimes it’s debilitating to my capacity to function. Truth Really Fucking Hurts.

But building the capacity to crawl back out of that hole time and again sure does build some resilience in a person. Enough so that some everyday disasters seem small in comparison. Love me a good fire when everyone is losing their shit and I’m marching around running shit because it’s just Tuesday for me.

Maybe you can undercover boss your way in with the team by starting as an apprentice now.

You’d have an extended time to interview with everyone and maybe you’d learn the trade well enough not to embarrass yourself.

Do be sure to capture the reveal on video.

There is a stagehand inside joke there; laying Marley floor is a kind of thing one might be asked to do for a job call.

Oh look; I am the monster I have always been afraid of.

Or at least I look like him. This monster drinks less and shouts less and tries hard to be involved more in the lives of his family.

I cannot change the fact that I am a monster; but I need not behave monstrously.

Seatac Spirits is on the southeast corner of the airport site on International Blvd just north of S. 188th street. It’ll be a bit of a walk from the terminal.

If people gonna be bringing Fluffy into the grocery store and dangling him over the meat case (yes I saw this happen with my own eyes) and nobody will say anything (my partner stopped me from getting involved)…

Well I figure nobody’s bicycle ever pooped on the floor so we can have them in any place you want

Anything decent costs $1k and up anymore who wants to leave that out of sight? “This is my emotional support bicycle and I become murderous if I am deprived of it”

I have one; I don’t recall that there were ever any new or interesting things in firmware updates save for bug fixes in early releases.

EurekaPROM is a chip one can add to a Behringer FCB1010 to have simple MIDI control for patches and individual FX (I have one myself).

Default patches are not well balanced between each other for volume; if playing live spend some time modifying output levels on the patches you use to a standard level.

Start? Always did. I’m the target audience for my own humor. Sometimes “myself” is relatives that live in my head. Ultimately I am three raccoons in a trenchcoat.

My Waterloo was “apostasy” first encountered when reading an Orson Scott Card novel (one of the Ships of Earth series; a thinly-veiled retelling of the Mormon theology as sci-fi)

Raised Lutheran, wasn’t a word in our usual parlance. I asked the LDS-raised then-spouse, “What the heck is ‘aaa - po - STAS - ee’ ?”

Now I am one. (An apostate)

I was thinking as I read the OP, “You can shear a sheep as many times as you like, but you can only skin them once.”

How do we update the metaphor for your tale?
