Not even close to the right size. Make them into vases. I have a little cork that is just right for sizing as I throw, then the clay shrinks to the right size later.

Opening should be about 1", taper to 7/8" for tapered stoppers.

When the cork fits the wet opening, it dries and fires to the right size.

If leather hard, you can put in on the wheel as shown in your picture and carefully trim the rim to be parallel with the base. Then turn it over to trim the base. Measure the thickness of the base first so you know how far to go.
