When interests align a formal conspiracy is not necessary. The fact that there are so few players in every space these days mean everyone from grocery stores to chip fabs can bend you over with your pants on secure in the knowledge that their “competition” will do the same without even a phone call or an email to formalize the corruption.

Deregulation is a pox upon this land.

"We think that Firmus indeed has a compelling story. It just doesn't have a compelling valuation,"

lol.

Do you have a good thumbnail? Are you streaming on a schedule? Are you promoting through Instagram or something?

What kind of streaming are you doing? Are you behaving as if an audience exists when there isn’t one or hoping to turn up the heat when they arrive? Is OBS tuned properly? Do you have a good layout?

It’s an artform as much as a science and as an artist you need to have a product and the technical details needs to be locked in so that product is being delivered. What is your product? Is the technical side of things covered?

You need to answer all these questions for yourself I think, and in your post to get good tips on building an audience.

It’s been hard to get your first role since about the time bootcamp became a thing. The market had been flooded for a long time and AI made it worse.

Why do they need the survey at all to get these numbers? Certainly they know what percentage of the user base is running Mac, Windows and Linux purely based on backend data that is readily available to Steam itself.

They could query the db for and publish platform data if they wanted, independent of the self reported survey. I’m an oddball and run a steam deck, a couple of windows and linux dual boots, and linux only laptop, and a few Macs. That can’t be accurately captured in the survey as far as I know…not that I’m that into self reporting Metadata like to companies even ones I tend to like.

Anyway

It would be nice if they just pulled the accurate numbers.

Remeber when the mac claim to fame was that you didn't have to hunt around the operating system for an hour turning off features nobody wanted? And they had a consistent design philosophy?

It's not nearly the trash fire that Windows is, but that's like being the hottest walmart greeter.

I'm getting back into mac right now for production work and the number of bafflingly shit decisions made all over the operating system is amazing. Friction everywhere...confusing dialogs..

I'm hopeful that next year they figure out what mad mac great back in the day...not too hopeful though.

I feel like as time went on the feedback loop of admiration and stress of watching this train-wreck of a justice system in real time did him potentially lasting mental harm.

It’s unfortunate but it’s a fact of life for a lot of creatives in the current media environment even if they aren’t in the psychotic right wing political monitoring realm.

I hope he heals. He has lots more positivity to give.

Google is a bunch of sellout bitches, helps them keep their monopoly stays inside the tech cartel of the mag 7.

Every single one of these public hostile companies should be broke into about 15 different companies and made to compete in the real world.

dwitman

Did you update the protons games database? Or was it already listed as working?

:D

dwitman

It’s down to the amount of user hostile shit windows is running in the background I think.

If you do web dev you throw a bunch of annoyances in your way by not developing on Linux. MACOS with access to basically if not all Linux packages or WSL you still hit issues that you wouldn’t if you were running native Linux.

Edit: there’s also no substitute for experience. If your rolling an app on your arch or cachyOS install that you’ve tuned over the years you know a lot about how to maintain, customize, and troubleshoot your app server and other infrastructure.

It’s too different from the original for most of the fanbase…and the fanbase of darkest dungeon 1 is probably the bulk of the audience for part 2, but they hate it.

dwitman

Starting somewhere is a good place to start.

dwitman

To an extent. Not 1000 hours worth of meta progression.

My MacBook gives me the same fits with text selection from the keyboard.

I suspect some of the proper key mappings, like shift + super + s to take a a targeted screenshot are custom mappings for CachyOS plasma.

Stop being so cheerful.

dwitman

The work they’ve done on proton. To me that’s the most important to gaming…Steam is important to them and also to getting them to where dethroning MS in the PC gaming space is a possibility (if largely due to Microsoft’s own incompetence)

dwitman

How much fab do they have reserved for which architecture?

Oh yeah.

dwitman

My company also wants us to be the ones to find a profitable use for this thing.

Something tells me out of the 3ish billion working class people on Earth that the one to find the silver bullet of savings in this tech will not even be on this continent let alone in my institution.

dwitman

Even with human review in a lot of cases coding anything of even reasonable complicity is going to be riddled with bugs in my book unless you are using a sophisticated harness along with in-depth knowledge of the space your working in.

These things can recreate a Python backend tutorial or whatever because there’s a billion of them out there, but even if ai did work they are all half baked in some way as opposed to a production product, like security

dwitman

I’d argue the people unwilling to make that distinction are generally unwilling to make that distinction…and the people willing to probably already have it factored in.

I tend to think altering the language to address the problem is often avoidance of addressing the real problem.

Like: an orphanage is now a group home but those kids are technically still orphans who society by and large could give a fuck about them no matter what signage you put up infront of the building.

The staff still treats them the same.  The government still doesn’t care anymore than it’s forced to by a generally apathetic public…

…the public is largely apathetic to the plight of unwanted children…probably because they are barely surviving themselves…or maybe they are just too into the eras tour. Probably both.

It’s time to rage against the machine people!

No wait it’s time for my nap.

dwitman

I’m sorry you got deleted OP

Time is going to fix a lot of this but I think some sort of intervention on the panic attacks might be required. You need to find something that’s more exciting and also calming at the same time.

I have a cattle dog mix and he does well in his crate with a peanut butter treat to calm down, and it did not take a lot to redirect a good deal of the attention he pays to the cat to his toy. He’s not perfect yet but he’s getting there. also a rescue, also has some behavioral quirks and needs a lot of structure and calm leadership.

Zoomies can be an indication of stress, so if that’s the case and you can teach her to redirect and calm down it should be ok.

I would ask an LLM for potential OBS plugins, or if I were highly technical, I’d do it in TouchDesigner by applying some sort of volume calculation to opacity and ship the output to OBS with spout.

I can make you a proof of concept in TouchDesigner if you’d like. Dm me.
