The way you ended it it deserved a proper response, so there you go

I think you were right in your first comment, if you see my reply citing D.C. v. Heller. As to your last comment, I believe that the judiciary is given the power to establish appropriate regulations that account for the interest in the "citizens' militia," per Heller
eLCT
What is your source for saying that there were one or two clerks and few Asian ones?
eLCT
But the Second Amendment does ground the right to bear arms in the necessity of a "well regulated Militia"
eLCT
You don't have to imagine it. Scalia wrote that "the Second Amendment extends, prima facie, to all instruments that constitute bearable arms, even those that were not in existence at the time of the founding," District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570, 582 (2008). The correct mechanism to protect from the unique dangers of modern day weapons is judicial scrutiny

As to the majority's stopping federal preview of state voting procedures for non-discrimination: "Throwing out preclearance when it has worked and is continuing to work to stop discriminatory changes is like throwing away your umbrella in a rainstorm because you are not getting wet."
eLCT
Do you mean excluding a particular ethnicity? According to the Wikipedia page on her clerks she had several Asian ones. I can't tell as to other ethnicities but I'm def wondering your source
eLCT
I would say she ranks among the likes of Thurgood Marshall and MLK as a civil rights icon. She literally established intermediate scrutiny for sex-based classifications. So, although she's a beneficiary of her work as she's a woman, I would argue that her gender is not what in fact earned her her before-death clout
eLCT
People are mad at this comment but it's a predatory practice. Crunch literally packs in the extra fees under a final page labeled "Legal Stuff" (at least something along those lines). So they describe the sole actual sign-up fees, which total a higher rate than the standard recurring fees, as 'nothing important.' Defending white-collar abuse
eLCT
You are very funny

If you're breaking a few eggs it sounds like you're alright with some unpopularity - in which case, power to you. But you'd be doing everyone a favor if you find a way not to indignify a people whose indignation you're superintending
eLCT
I agree with you on colonialism being the underlying problem but is the solution to take a sledgehammer to the current state of affairs? Again, not disagreeing with you on what the key issue is
eLCT
That's not necessary - in any case she as a defendant would be entitled to witnesses in her favor. So she can use testimony even in the hypothetical that there is no video footage
eLCT
Every country in world history has had socioeconomic discrepancies with objective factors underlying them. For you to generalize India from your couch as the septic tank of the world is indeed, believe it or not, racist
eLCT
It is an education issue
eLCT
Integration into white society obviously takes work, including retention of cultural capital
eLCT
Best of luck when the leopards eat your face*
Edit: If the issue is language, however, I hope you learn how racism is by definition prejudicial
eLCT
Always, (1) each culture will have its own strengths, weaknesses, stories, and worthwhile individuals, and (2) you are and will be to society like a flat earther: as useful as, but no more intelligent than, a sharpening stone
eLCT
Racist

This is actually America's foreign policy under trump

I think "oblivious to"
