Great stuff! I'm actually nearby Asheville as well and have been playing fiddle style for the past several years. I thought I was one of the only ones playing violin & viola for fiddle tunes - great to hear you doing it too!

There's a lot of factors that can affect the overall tone of your fiddle. This includes your bowing technique, the amount of rosin on your bow, how clean your strings are, and the specific brand/series & type of strings you use. The overall construction of your instrument can have a huge impact on the tonal output of your sound too.
The choice of strings themselves can make a huge difference on the overall 'tone' of the instrument, and will vary from string to string. Some violinists like to use a different brand & style for their E string, because it's usually just one single strand, and having something more premium on the E can help prevent slips, or wailing sounds on it.
The choice of brand and series strings is entirely up to you based on the tone and sound you like for your personal instrument. Personally, I really like Thomastik Dominant series, with a steel core & aluminum wound. They're a solid all-around string that produces warm and full-sounding lower tones, while keeping that bright punch of the higher tones on the E string, but not too sharp and piercing. They are however a little pricey. You may just need to try a few brands & series to figure out what works best for you and your instrument.
I don't recommend cleaning your strings with any solution or alcohol - just use a dry rag that isn't used for anything else to rub them down when you're done playing. I'd be afraid of wearing down the strings with any wet materials, thus shortening their life span.
In regards to your bowing technique, my fingers have the ability to hyperextend, thus my pinky used to always bend backwards when holding the bow. What helped me get used to it when I was younger was to frequently practice my bow hand position using a pencil or pen, and carefully adjust until it felt natural and comfortable. This is a lot easier to do with a short object, instead of the full size bow. The other thing to consider is what each finger is actually doing for the entire bow positioning, and focus on the minute control each finger has over the position. The pinky for example, I consider to be the 'rudder' of the bow, adjusting the perpendicular angle of the bow across the strings. The better your pinky control is, the more accurate your bowing angle is, thus preventing slips & wails on that E string.
Anyways, TLDR, there's a heck of a lot that can affect your overall tone. Strings & bowing technique are only two out of many factors. I'm happy to chat about this - feel free to DM me.

Initially the page didn't. It was updated about 3 weeks ago though and now does.

Note that this page doesn't mention compatibility for CentOS 8. Only 6 & 7.

I did this with Dunkin Donuts for like 2 years

If they're in a position to hire, and know what to look for in technical requirements, sure. If all they want are recommendations based on an in-depth review of the needs of the company, then consultant sounds about right. there's short term and long term options available for that.

- gather requirements
- hire a consultant

I finally got this working (no help to Google Fi support). Thankfully, I didn't have to reset to factory defaults. I had to install the Hangouts Dialer app, and then start a call once from that. Afterwards, all calls inbound and outbound with the default dialer app worked over wifi.
This is a ridiculous requirement if it really is one. It should 'just work' and we shouldn't have to jump through hoops to make an advertised feature work properly.
eclipse6248
Just noting that I was in a chat with support for over an hour on this issue and we went through everything. Safe mode, ensuring 'opt in' was enabled on their side, resetting wifi settings, clearing app data and verifying permissions... The last thing the tech asked me to do was a factory reset of the phone. I have a lot of data on this phone already and would need to ensure I've got everything backed up appropriately, so I'll do that later.

I'm having the same issue with my Pixel 4a. Live in a cellular dead zone and wifi calling is necessary. I had this issue with my Moto X4 a couple years ago when I first got it, and had to 'opt-in' to get it to work, in addition to clearing storage for carrier services & the phone app. Frankly, this is extremely frustrating that my last two 'made for Fi' phones have had this exact same issue. So far I'm loving the Pixel 4a as a device, but Fi's service is just such a pain.

I also shifted from classical to fiddle style, starting a couple years ago. Three big things allowed me to feel comfortable diving in and jamming with some local groups.
First, just start listening! Go to shows, watch clips on youtube - just get more accustomed to it.
Second, grab some fiddle style lesson books. One that was incredibly helpful for me was "The Fiddler's Fakebook".
Third, find an amateur group and just start playing. I had a friend of mine that was playing guitar with some friends playing generic Americana and invited me to come along and play fiddle. I was very new to it at the time, but just jumping in was a great way to learn with people that I was already comfortable around. From there, just take every opportunity to play with others - I found that I learn best from practicing with different groups of people as the style of music we play varies quite a bit. Anything from Americana, bluegrass, gospel, even pop.

Kosher, meaning that it's good enough practice and not against a rule.
Your example is exactly what I was implying.
eclipse6248
According to the style guide at puppet-lint.com (my go to resource), nothing specific is mentioned about inline comments. What you propose would be considered kosher in my opinion. I have also placed comments inline with the code, positioned several spaces out of the stanza. This only works however if it's a short comment for one line, and you intend to ignore the 80 character limit check. Just looks cleaner in my opinion.

Low 30s here. PC gamer here (including steam link). FPS's, mostly focusing on CS:GO and Insurgency, story-driven 3rd person like The Walking Dead or Life is Strange, and for some reason I'm currently addicted to Surviving Mars.

Bind on a non-DNS server is overkill. Why not use a DNS caching service like nscd?

We're using SanDisk FusionIO's. Have a ton of them, and maybe only had 1-2 fail in the past 3 years. Expensive? yes. Fast? you betcha. Reliable? seems that way so far. Only major headache for us is that we run them on linux and the drivers need to be compiled for each kernel version we have. Makes patching those systems real fun.

Hooch is crazy.

I use this with a wireless mouse and keyboard at home.

Parent company decided to move a datacenter from one state to another in order to save some big bucks on leasing costs. The idea was unrack the servers from all racks, load them into several trucks, and drive the near 1000 miles to the new site, rack them, and power them on like nothing ever happened.
As it turns out, two servers went missing in that move. One of them, was our provisioning host, with which contained all the pxe boot images, kickstart scripts and yum & apt repositories for new systems to provision. Thankfully, this was no biggie to replace as we generate all the configs via configuration management, and just rsync'd the images & iso's from another datacenter. However, I still had the reaction of "really... the one system that gets lost is the damn provisioning server, so I can't kickstart new hosts??"

For me personally I have a remote station I can join with a skype session for face to face discussions. I'll generally have my video feed running during the day, so that works really well. Something like that might get a little cumbersome for multiple people, but the dedicated hangout box sounds like a good option for that.
eclipse6248
As someone that works from home, I strongly recommend that you don't bank on a single solution - have multiple communication options available. Hangouts will cover a lot of it, from 1-1 text based chat to video conferencing, but a group chat room using IRC, or slack, or whatever is also very powerful for a large userbase that works in different areas.
Indeed. I have a Stainer copy that is inscribed like this.
