For the first question you are a 5 or 6. For the second, you are whatever number Patrick Star would be.

Cold remedies treat the symptoms. They can actually help. The sugar has almost nothing to do with it.

I person can use anything they want, but that isn't going to help real problems. If a baby has a fever they aren't going to use the power of belief. Belief is great but it doesn't solve real problems. I can't wish away a fever, congestion, or a bunch of other things especially without ignoring the real problems.

Maybe you just don't understand the point of most medications, They try to treat symptoms not cure. That's what helps people sleep.

If a person takes something for AIDS, or cancer that makes them feel better that doesn't mean it is a viable product. Placebo is powerful but not cure powerful.

That's not how treating cold and flu treatment works. When people notice they are sick they are already deeper than they think. By the time they notice, order, and get these items they have already been sick for at least 5 days. They are probably already on the mend, so the ratings are really stupid.

You don't see results like that on FDA approved meds because they need more proof than having an Amazon account. These companies could charge $10+ a pill and sell millions of pills a year if they ran clinical trials. The fact that they are passing on all that money should be a huge red flag that they are full of shit.

There are prescription treatments that have very low effectiveness but were still approved. Some nail fungus drugs have less than 10% effectiveness.

Most of the time people just treat the symptoms or the flu. Cough, congestion, runny nose, etc. The drug you listed does none of those things.

Then there are retro-viral drugs. For the flu there is Tamiflu, which can help prevent the viruses from replicating.

The medical world has things that work in labs, controlled conditions, the real world, etc. Homeopathic drugs work on the internet were reviews have been compromised by click farms and idiots.

Here's a better review for you. I have respiratory problems and narcolepsy. Getting sick means I miss a week or more of my life and end up in the hospital. I would never give my newborn child the stuff you listed. Ever.

I love that movie and think she is soooo very pretty, but I don't think she is that pretty in that movie.

Thank you, but I quit. I tried for 5+ years and couldn't take it anymore. The low pay (techs and interns started a little above minimum wage while working with single pills that cost $30), long hours, dangerous conditions for customers, etc, pushed me over the edge.

My pharmacy had pharmacists working 3, 14 hour shifts in a row. They were expected to be checking 2000+ scripts a day (making sure the pills, directions and people were correct). The tech that did most of the work had very little training and were not good. When I started they treated techs with respect and paid decently. When I left the techs were people that had trouble getting into community college and I could only trust them to run a register. There was only the bare minimum amount of people and CVS prided itself on scheduling a "skeleton crew". I saw a number of bad things happen to people from mistakes. I saw theft (I handled inventory for the region) and hardcore drug addicts working and stealing from us. I saw CVS hire colorblind people who were responsible for pill identification. People got hospitalized, pregnant, sick, but I luckily saw no deaths.

Different regions are treated differently (from what I have heard), so you may be fine. But please, please, please, always check that your pills physically match the description written on the bottle and question why it is different from the last time. Not just the first time but every day and every pill. CVS employees have a history of pouring pills back into a stock bottle, which could result in pills of one type ending up in another bottle and getting mixed enough that no one notices. Check every pill, every time.

I can't speak for other retail places but I try my best to avoid CVS even though I know what the pills are supposed to look like. I don't know if the other chains are better (besides there being less phone calls). When I started at CVS 90% of the techs were close to being as smart as me. Most were pre pharma majors, pre med, pre dental, chem, or some other STEM degree, everyone else were lifers (soccer moms that had been there for years and knew their place). When I left the techs were basically front store employees, with no knowledge or skill. That doesn't seem bad until you know the amount of scripts that needed to be verified an hour. Pharmacists had to trust the techs to be mostly correct since they couldn't check everything in depth. Add in that doctors write like shit, people want drugs instantly, and lots of drug names look similar to others and you have a recipe for disaster.

TL:DR If the place looks busy rethink getting drugs there. If you want to help call the home office and ask why more people aren't on staff.

I work in the pharmacy of a CVS for years. One of the things that bothered me the most was looking out in the aisle and seeing homeopathic (aka bullshit) being sold next to real items. Like right next to the children's Tylenol was some tincture of bullshit for reducing fever.

This label isn't clear. People purchased it all the time. I tried to stop them. But they never listened even when I told them that hey wrote me off as a big Pharma shill (please stop using that phrase).

I actually got reprimanded during a conference call about the removal of cigarettes from stores when I asked when the homeopathic stuff was going to be removed since we were focusing on patient health now. Some edge lord on the call chimed in about soda and I said it wasn't the same thing at all because people can responsibly use soda. Fake infant pain and fever relief can kill people. Then suddenly I was the bad guy to 15 pharmacists.

Edit: I also cut off any person that even interview that a place that makes this crap (I'm a chemist). Anyone that agrees to go against their education to mass produce this shit is a scumbag of the highest degree. I would rather be homeless than work for these assholes. Me being homeless hurt myself and my family. Helping them can hurt thousands of people.

Edit 2: Before anyone comes in with the "But my placebo effect!!". Infants and real problems don't give a shit. Some things can be controlled by our thoughts. Some things can not. The parts of the brain that you can control don't handle the important shit.

Sure. If you don't use any other Verizon services you can even ditch the FIos router.

Edit: Some more info for people. The only reason you need a Verizon router is if you use their phone or TV stuff, I don't know what it does for phones since I have never had phone service, but I know it does up date the STBs. Barring those thing you do not need the Verizon router. They will lie and tell you that you can't get the speeds they promise. I have had Fios off and on for 10 years, I have gigabit now, I haven't used a verizon router in 5 years. Corporations that use Verizon don't use the routers. They are good if you don't have to pay for them and have limited needs. I have 15+ devices, 3 floors, a website, and a bunch of other things so the provided router just doesn't work for me.

I worked in a pharmacy for years and had to batte with the elderly and drug addicts everyday. The trick is to remember that the money and items aren't yours and giving people what they want will make you day easier.

My boss always said that unless I was flagrantly breaking the law I could do what every I wanted. If for some reason I couldn't do something, I was told to play bad cop and be as rude as possible without it being fireable. Then when they asked to speak to the manager, he would come in and be really nice to them and try to help and reprimand me in front of the customer. The customer would feel like they made progress even i they didn't and my boss would by me a snack.

The retail value of the stuff we gave away was probably over 100K a year.

The women getting abortions aren't who we think they are:

The majority of abortions are done on women 'in the 20-30 age bracket (over 50 percent)

Teens (15-19) only account for 11%

60% of women that get an abortion have at least 1 child already.

Since this is about science I thought it would be nice to point out that science fiction has often been the guide for research and development.

Fiction can be an important tool that lets us play with ideas and their potential consequences.

Ackchyually...

The fire suppression system went off from the bomb Neo put in the elevator when heading to the roof. The coptergunning just broke the window and allowed the water to flow out.

Look into wifi repeaters and power line adapters (for things that can use Ethernet). Also, try and put your router in or near the rooms you use the most.

Good homeowners that care about their stuff.

If you use Google calendar or iCal I suggest adding a premade home maintenance calendar (events show up like holidays do) to remind you of when things should be done.

Simply taking care of appliances can increase their life and efficiency.

Not having to take out a loan shouldn't be a badge of honor. Billionaires have loans on their homes cause it is cheaper. People that could work hard and pay in full get loans because it can allow to to not have to work as hard and get things done faster.

I currently work for myself but have worked for companies. Almost every place I have worked and almost everyone I know that does work in those type of places thinks that management is stupid. My point is that being impressive to a boss doesn't always translate into being likes my coworkers.

You have a lot to be proud about. I honestly mean that.

Have you had a lot of work experience? Management and the workforce is often at odds with each other.

Working hard isn't impressive to me. My goal is to be happy. I'm not my job, my house, or who I'm fucking. All that stuff can leave in an instant and a person that values what you are talking about would be left with nothing. Living for the approval of others is kind of a sad existence.

elementsofevan

Being successful in the workplace is often more about getting respect and working well with peers than anything else.

What about oneself?

Why does anyone need to impress others? Plenty of people are successful and happy being average and not impressive.

Google couldn't have done this. There was just no way. They didn't have the power to begin with to force OEMs and carriers to do much of anything.

Google does have pretty strict guidelines for getting access to the play store and the rules get tighter every year. They have to balance that control with freedom and profits so that companies like Samsung have less of a reason to leave for other options (tizen).
