So sorry to hear that happened. If you don’t mind me asking, why did it fail?

Speaking from personal experience, I also could barely stomach the OBGYNs finger. Always had to use a pediatric speculum when perusing hysto and it was excruciating. I had never had any kind of penetrative sexual activity. I had the same fear. My surgeon never mentioned anything about it. As long as the cuff of your hysto has healed well, they will be able to do it. My vaginectomy went smoothly even with that factor. I’m sure it’ll be the same for you.

Best of luck!!

lol yeah my cis guy best friend since like 2nd grade. He’s the best

So happy for you man! I actually remember your name popping up in this subreddit a few times in your recovery stage, happy to hear how well it’s going for you
ephemeralbayou
Absolutely
ephemeralbayou
Hell yeah dude. Cheers

I remember this happening to me, although I did have UL and Vnectomy. I think it’s just nerves reconnecting and blood flow being shunted around different post op. It went away at the 5-6 week mark if memory serves correctly.

Not Stantucci but Gallegos at the boulder crane center. I had a positive experience with him unlike what is being said. I had 2 wound separations and a bad rash. While it’s true that their advice was mostly “wait and let it heal”, they were very attentive, checked back in unprompted a few times on me, let me schedule 2 follow ups specifically about the wound seperation and they took it seriously, applied silver nitrate and gave some instructions as well as a topical for the rash. Some times they took their time emailing back but in that case I would call and get a same day answer.

Dude I know it’s tough but I promise it will go down. I had even more swelling than this and like 80% was gone by the 6 week mark. I was so grossed out in the beginning by how everything looked, but it just went away all on its own with time. Trust the process, it’s going to look entirely different in a few months. I know it can be really scary, but I’m here to reassure you.

That’s great to hear, thank you
ephemeralbayou
Is that something that would just happen with time?
ephemeralbayou
Congratulations brother!!
ephemeralbayou
Thank you! I appreciate you saying that

Thank you!

Thank you for the reassurance :)

I totally relate to you on all of this dude. To be honest with you, my first 2-3 weeks I was actually pretty disgusted by my own junk. I feel like a lot of other guys on here post about how they immediately fell in love with their results but I was not in that category at all. Not unhappy I got the surgery, but really grossed out by how it looked. It was wet in some areas, too dry and flaking in others, I had wound separation so it was bloody, incredibly swollen, some parts numb, others hypersensitive, the drainage smelled terrible, the catheter gave me terrible irritation that bled, the list goes on.
I basically just had to focus on whether or not it was getting concerningly worse or if it was infected, and throw all my concerns about aesthetics out the window for the time being. It was so hard to feel like I had sunk so much time, money, logistical and emotional effort into something that I now felt like looked repulsive. But over time just by trekking through it started healing and revealed what I consider to be an amazing result. I don’t have much advice for you in that department other than to consistently remind yourself that it will eventually get better. I also took photos every 2 days or so and logged how much pain and mobility I had so that I could see over time that something was changing and getting better. Your sense of time is so messed up post op that it’s hard to tell you are doing better than 3 days ago because 3 days ago feels like a lifetime ago, so writing it down helped me a lot.
I didn’t get out of my post surgery blues until just a little bit ago when I started being able to go back to doing some stuff at work and be with my friends more. It’s hard not having anything to do other than be in pain.
I don’t have anything to say to fix it for you but I can certainly tell you I relate and sit in the suffering with you. Everything you just said I can relate to, and everything got better with time. Happy to talk if you need it.

I had this same exact thing. 80% of it was gone at 4 weeks. I’m 7 weeks post op now and when I stand for too long or move around I can still see a soft outline of it, but for the most part it is gone. I can relate to you that it looks gnarly and feels incredibly uncomfortable. Trust the process, nothing really helped me other than time. If you DM me I am happy to share pics of how it has subsided over time.

Congratulations! I had surgery with him 5 weeks ago. Their team is great. Just wait until you get the SP out, you’ll feel like a whole new man!
ephemeralbayou
Okay thanks for the clarification!

If you don’t mind me asking, what stops you from using the public lined up urinals?

Hey there, I am in between surgeries with Gallegos for ftm bottom surgery. I know this is not the same thing but wanted to offer some thoughts if it’s helpful.
For starters, he may not have many results on his website, but when I talked to their care coordinator, he was able to show me many photo results of my surgery in a video consult. Many people will decline to have their photos shared outright on the Internet, but will consent to share with potential patients. If you haven’t already, I would reach out with an email and ask if that’s a possibility.
I have loved my experience with the Crane Center. This surgery has been a deep source of anxiety for me for a long time, and I feel that my patient care coordinator has been there to support me every step of the way. He even remembered what classes I was taking in school and my post graduate plans. Always willing to take my calls and answer emails even if they were just to ease my anxiety and nothing else. Similarly I have enjoyed Gallegos’ bedside manner and felt he was very competent. I had a complicated bottom surgery journey but always felt like Gallegos came to me with both the problem and the solution at the same time.
Feel free to reach out If there are any questions I can answer. I know we are not in the same boat but we’re in the same waters. Best of luck.
