I don't see the dissonance. The opinions about ICE are not correlated with opinions on immigration.

If ICE were just enforcing immigration law by lawfully detaining illegal immigrants with warrants, then yes, criticism of ICE would be correlated with criticism of immigration enforcement.

But obviously, people are against ICE for the atrocities they are committing, not lawful enforcement of immigration.
