As much as I love FOSS, LibreOffice does not do all the same stuff as MS Word. It's compatible, sure, but not really the same.

Did you mean something like this: https://mypy-lang.org/examples.html

if you prefer closing brackets, you can always put a #endif statement at the end of the if block

Thanks for the recommendations! I indeed ended up going with Okular

I heard it's in decline

If you scroll half way through the page you linked, you'll find a comparison table where they list a high end model with a 5V 5A output.

Could also be a student issue. I've seen more cases of shitty student mentality than shitty professors.

learn to things the "embedded way"

Do you have any pointers on where to start?

I've literally never met anyone that used 22/7. It's either

  • 3.14
  • a build-in constant like math.pi (python), pi (MATLAB), the π button on a scientific calculator
  • 3 for very rough first-order estimates

Almost sounds like Arduino would be perfectly suited for what you need.

JN are supported out of the box in vscode + python extension

Went to a electrical engineering conference with my supervisor while at the university. She was literally the only woman there (out of ~100 participants).

So I am of the same mindset as you: find it hard to believe that it's more than 5%.

The alpha-beta frame is still a rotating reference, so it's useful for the PR controller. The PI controller works best with a DC reference, so there a dq transformation might result in better performance.

But again, it's been a while since I did anything related to 3 phase control systems, so take my comments with a huge grain of salt.

EDIT: maybe the people over at /r/ControlTheory might be able to give some more insight.

It's a bit unclear to me what your controller looks like: is it a PR controller? Or are you using a 3phase => dq0 transformation and then using a PI-controller?

This was a long time ago for me, so I not be of much help. But some I have some basic questions:

  • bit imbalance in phase voltages => what is your output?
  • Are you using some kind of current balancing scheme for the 2 levels?

That's the literal idea behind the concept of bond graphs

Alternatively: SumatraPDF + WIN keys (eg: WIN+LEFT, WIN+RIGHT allows you to open the same PDF twince, and stack them side-by-side)

In my case the system is too large and expensive to just have a test setup at home. I can remotely login to do most stuff, but like OP, I occasionally have to be in the lab, next to the test setup.

https://plantuml.com/ and https://www.planttext.com/ generally do the job well enough. The source is a plain text file, so it's easy to modify and version control.

I believe there's also a vscode integration.
