more context is required. i hear in-game sounds just fine.

failfurby

It was added as a finisher, but yeah, others have also pointed out that those slots would be better served with Treasure Cruise.

failfurby

Oh. Duh. lol, yeah I guess post combat actions with this deck aren't as meaningful.

failfurby

Just out of curiosity, why is triggering it before combat so important?

failfurby

I wasn't aware I needed to explicitly point out the fact that it's a different list other than when I did. Also, my local meta likely won't match anyone else's on this forum, so why should I worry about the most subjective and variable part that basically no one here will agree with.

failfurby

Yeah, I saw the deck's results history on MTGGoldfish. I wanted to experiment with a different route, one closer to my Burn roots, before just netdecking.

failfurby

Exactly as I said, I'm looking for thoughts on the deck list I posted, not just a link to a completely different list with zero other commentary on it.

failfurby

Yeah, dropping the Blast for Cruise makes sense. And yeah, maybe drop the Coast, a Pathway, and a Reef for a few basics

failfurby

I have that list. I'm wanting to try something a little different without having to buy an entire new mana base, usually the most expensive part of any deck. I think dropping the 2 Blasts for 2 Cruises makes sense, though. I had them in as a finisher piece, but maybe a little more card advantage will be better overall.

failfurby

Yes, I am aware of the net list.

I second the OT Multiforce, I've had it for a while now and love it.

failfurby

Look at the Roxon Flex and Flex Companion. Lots of different customization options, especially once the T-shank holder comes back in stock. I've been carrying an Ozark Trail Multiforce for a while now and I've enjoyed it the whole time. See if that fits your needs, too.

failfurby

Roxon has an actual marlin spike implement. Though, it is a 2-slot, so maybe your mod fits your needs better, idk.

failfurby

The Flex looks interesting, but seems like it's more along the "getting a new tool" route rather than "mod an existing tool" route. And, I doubt any of even the 1-slot implements would work in my Multiforce.

MSRP is back. These are likely the pre-con face Commanders. So just find a non-shitty store and you wont pay a mark-up.

failfurby

All pre-cons are "starter" decks, in that they are intended as an easy onboarding for the game. We haven't seen full spoilers yet, so no one can GUARANTEE they are good, but the recent trend of Commander pre-cons is that they are very worth picking up for both new and established players.

(ppl read threads this old? damn...)

Interesting idea. It would take some experimenting, but given the kind of power it has it might do what I want it to.

failfurby

It's on my chase list. So far, I've found: a Buggy pod, a Tangaika pod, and an Anomaly (Near-future Lens) pod.

failfurby

I use small divided tackle boxes from Walmart and small plastic boxes from Michael's.

I'm following your train of thought here, all fair points. Definitely things that TOs and players should consider when approaching a tournament. I think Ghost's event staff especially should consider these things when setting up side events and such at Vault Tours. Maybe now that decks have assigned and trackable ownership, we start having player rankings based off of the total power level of decks owned. One that isn't dynamic so that trading/selling away a deck can lower your rating. That way some events can be for 0 level, brand new players only, for better learning and on-boarding experiences.

failfurby

First off, A+, for showing your work: math, hypothesis, method, results, this is without a doubt the best effort I have ever seen made by someone on the internet to further their point. Seriously, massive and huge props. The only counter point I can even make at this junction is that "best house" is subjective and likely to be different from player to player and you can't measure for that. It would likely skew the real-world results, but I do also realize that doesn't really matter in the larger scheme of your hypothesis and results due to your methodology.

Very, very interesting, I'm not gonna lie. I do still feel like Alliance is better for Sealed, even if it's only partially an illusion of a better experience. I'd rather players feel they have a choice and a chance rather than feel they have none at all.

failfurby

Exactly what "math" are you basing this off of? I only shared my opinion, but if you're going to come at me with "facts" then I'm going to need to see the data before I take your word for it.

failfurby

They both have their place. I like the idea of Sealed Alliance to smooth out the potential for absolutely unplayable garbage keeping someone from contention. I also think KeyForge's heart and soul will always be Archon.
