I think it's interesting that she doesn't mention Abnormalities at all when talking about Distortions. According to...it was either the LCE or LCD at some point (I think LCE), becoming an Abnormality essentially means getting almost all of your individuality removed. Take the two we've seen on-screen (Schadenfraude and Alriune) - they both become Abnormalities that we'd already seen in L Corp, not something unique to them.
This is an inconvenience to her narrative that she's conveniently choosing to ignore. She'd probably say something like "oh it's better to live as your true self for any period of time" but I find it interesting that it's basically what she was afraid of before; without the trappings of society (E.G.O), people eventually become little better than beasts (Abnormalities).
I don't think it's actively malicious, she's just choosing to bury her head in the sand and not think about the consequences of her actions, and it's unfortunate that she's in a position of power. Because, like Meursault says, she's acting irresponsible.

In part 2, doesn't Pwie mention the bus when asking why we can't stay with them? Or is it just the outside world? That was mostly what I was referring to.
fighterman481
Don't forget fitting them for their Limbus Company uniform

People said that it was ezscape and that the whole point of clues was being a distraction and diversion, that it would distract you from whatever you were doing and get you to engage with other content. Those arguments always sounded dumb to me, and it seems like eventually people came around.
fighterman481
Interesting point, I hadn't thought about that.

Honestly, patchwork seasons aren't that bad now that I'm thinking about it. I mean, look at last season, Tremor - Scorch, Ring Bleed, and The Middle all came out of it really strong (even if Walpurgis is what made Tremor - Scorch truly great), Sinking and Poise got some new toys with the Index (even if they're not necessarily best in slot) and Pinky/BL Meursault and LCD Ish. Three teams brought up to standard, whereas in the previous two seasons we got basically just the Heishou and I think just Bloodfiends (maybe Kurokumo Clan but it's definitely not in the same tier). It's helped round out the power levels of the statuses a lot.

The goggles in his Lobotomy E.G.O::Lamp are Dimensional Refraction Variant's E.G.O gift and I'm pretty sure he doesn't have them while in AEDD so it does appear you can take them off (or toggle visibility or something).
fighterman481
Also the boxes it gets you are crazy worth it. Just those boxes alone means that doing your dailies/weeklies is enough to get every single ID and E.G.O released in the season and still have extra boxes at the end. You can save everything for Walpurgis with no chance of missing anything.

Another interesting note: so far, "::" in ID names (and every enemy but the Butterfly of Entangled Lives from the latest RR, which is also related to the Light and presumably has extractable E.G.O) has only ever been used to refer to E.G.O (no matter what type, Effloresced, Lobotomy, LCE, or N Corp), but now Haute Couture is getting it too. Other prefixes don't follow this trend at all (The House of Spiders uses a single ":", Heishou have a "-" between Heishou Pack and the branch name, and most other things like fixer associations don't include a separator between the organization name and the branch of the organization), which implies to me that there's something about Haute Couture that works similarly enough to E.G.O that they use this very specific separator that you don't see anywhere else in the game (except the Butterfly). Not quite sure what to make of it.

I had no idea you could do this. Probably gonna get important as the number of Sinners allowed in combat gets bigger and bigger (since I assume we're working our way up to 10-12 on the field at once. I'd say 12 almost all the time but that cuts out a lot of the retreat gimmicks like Full Stop and Kong Lu from the design space).
fighterman481
What's happening with Bluesky? I don't use it or Twitter and am not terminally online enough to know about drama on those platforms lol
fighterman481
Pwie hitting the N Corp inquisitors with La Castration as they tear through the district looking for the "bus" their family talked about

Also she's conveniently ignoring that at the end of Distortion lies becoming an Abnormality, which strips you of your individuality (according to one of...either the LCE researchers or LCD people, I forget which). I'm sure she'd just say "living as your truest self for any amount of time is worth it" but come on, is that not people without the trappings of society that E.G.O represents becoming little better than beasts? Old Carmen was right and she refuses to admit it.

The Sinners have such wild relationships lol.
Half of them are closely related (either by blood or having been together for a long time) with their current worst enemies.
They somehow ended up being the Hierarch of Hongyuan's tutors and emotional support idiots (and one older brother + one best friend)
They now have collectively raised (and hopefully will raise/are raising) a god
They temporarily kept a seagull as a pet and taught it to do sick tricks, and somehow this experience keeps coming back and is considered an important memory during City-changing moments like the death of a First Kindred and eradication of most of his Family, and the changing of H Corp's leader
One of them is part of a multidimensional hivemind made of almost all of her alternate dimension counterparts
One of them is close friends with the Knight of the White Moon, some maybe-time-traveling ultra powerful fixer capable of fighting evenly with a First Kindred for three days straight and being the one to put an end to the Library in Angela's bad end
The Distorting Voice has been badgering one of them for attention for literal years and failed to get what she wanted
The Red Gaze is playing babysitter for them but spends most of his time sitting there and letting them die
The manager seems to be communicating/resonating with the Library, an Impurity of the City that the Head yeeted to the Outskirts years ago. And also they're an amnesiac who is potentially a capital-I Important person.
They're being bankrolled by one of the City's richest people and are one of the main/most important teams (if not the main team) of an aspirant Wing
Some random apparently inhuman group of people who can evade the Head's notice keep popping up to help them/give cryptic advice for reasons that aren't really even known to anyone
Aside from the first one these are all such wild, out-there things, I don't think anyone in the City would believe them if the Sinners just said these outright
fighterman481
In relation to this galaxy plot, I have a suspicion that something about the Sinners specifically is cosmically important. As Verg mentions, there are way more effective ways to get Golden Boughs than sending these thirteen lovable idiots in to grab them. And Limbus Company went out of their way to grab specifically these people - why go down into the Ruins to grab Don Quixote? There are certainly more than 12-13 Golden Boughs, you can find someone else connected to one that has trauma, you don't need to go grab an amnesiac Bloodfiend living in a very dangerous, far-away place unless you have a reason.
Even more suspicious, all of the main members of the New League (not including underlings who I don't think count as part of the League proper) are related to the Sinners. Every single one. And, I mean...Ahab? Sure she's got E.G.O and she's an easily-manipulated pawn, but these are not unique things. You don't have to go so far as to fish someone out of the Lake to find someone with those properties, especially not when that someone seems to be causing trouble for the New League (or, at least, Nelly).
Then there's Dante's whole "the thirteen will stand by my side in the kingdom" thing they were on when they had the nearly-going-crazy rant, whatever the Flow is...I think these people are a lot more important to the world than we or they know.
fighterman481
The people who originally tried to assassinate Dante in Selva Oscura, they had animal theming
fighterman481
I'm a little fuzzy on the specifics but I believe Hokma (then Benjamin) helped Ayin work with Dias to cause and profit off of the Smoke War?
fighterman481
Though notably the Risk Levels and Classifications mini Ishmael says that the papers they got say "Abnormalities with more complicated, difficult management conditions apparently produced more enkephalin" so there does appear to be some correlation between containment difficulty and risk levle, it's just not a direct containment difficulty = risk level, more like a containment difficulty is a factor in the enkephalin production (which then equals the risk level).
fighterman481
Well, the button is more of a managerial problem, since it changes its appearance to try and fool people who aren't paying enough attention. Could mark it higher because of that.
fighterman481
To be fair if they're fighting in the Magasin then she's got the capability to be unreasonably strong because of admin cheats (and is 30 combat levels higher than Yinglong as a result).
But let's be real, who among us wouldn't be too busy dancing with Meursault to pay full attention to a fight?
fighterman481
Or Night Drifter Sinclair, don't know when we'd have another opportunity for him. We could probably get an updated Xichunmael in the future since we'll certainly be seeing more of Xichun with Smoke War 2 on the horizon
fighterman481
Shoutouts to "Suddenly, One Day" for reigning as the undisputed king of intimidating stage titles only to be immediately dethroned next canto with "The Smoke"
fighterman481
You also have to remember that at the end of Distortions lies becoming an Abnormality, which, as far as I can tell, sort of removes your individuality and shoves you into the closest bucket - the two we've seen, Schadenfreude and Alriune, both became Abnormalities that already existed in L Corp HQ.
It's funny, because that feels remarkably like Carmen's original idea of people without scruples being little better than beasts. I feel like she's conveniently choosing to ignore this eventual end point (and the peccatula for that matter) or just thinks that a short time as your "truest self" is worth eventually becoming completely unrecognizable.
And also leads to you becoming an Abnormality, which the LCE or LCD (I forget which) states effectively removes your individuality.
