I kind of get disappointed when it’s more of a fall down than a knock down though. Sometimes announcers give the “takedown” call to the guy the didn’t fall down, but the takedown was more of an ice + gravity thing than actually winning the fight.

Wait now we’re talking about national goats? I can’t keep up!

Moze’s website says that they don’t calculate import taxes and it’s the recipients responsibility. That means DHL will pay the fee at customs and you have to pay them before they’ll release the package to you. I deliver for UPS and when this happens I need to collect a check before I can put the package in your hands, or the customer could pay the import tax online. I’m not sure if DHL has that option but I’m sure you could find out very easily. Likely you won’t know what the fee is until it makes it through customs, but after that dollar amount SHOULD be listed when you track your shipment. Again, that’s how it is with UPS, I’d assume it’s similar for DHL.

I wish I had pictures of it, and the Zillow listings have it strategically cropped out, but my parents bought this house a few years back that had a hot tub in the kitchen. Like there was the cooking part of the kitchen with an island that had bar seating, and on the other side of that was a couple steps down into an all glass nook with a hot tub smack in the middle. Probably less than 20 feet from the stove with no walls in between.

The whole house has a real ski-lodge/swinger pad vibe to it. A lot of wood and timber beams, in the woods, the back wall was all glass overlooking a lake. The shower in the master bathroom was also a sports team locker room style shower. Huge open tile room with I think 4 shower heads, equipped with a second door on the far end that just opens to the outside world. The house was custom built by some rich guy in the 70’s.

My sisters and I tried to convince them that it was a swinger house, but despite growing up in the 60s and 70s, our parents were the kinds of people who think that everyone else is as conservative and Christian as they are and insisted that the house was just “quirky.”

I’ve got a holland lop who thumps when we bring pizza boxes in the living room. Little guy hates pizza. Lops are weird.

I watched commentary from a town hall meeting about data centers last night and one woman made the point pretty clear: “your constituents hate the idea, they’re showed up, they’ve written letters, they’ve responded to your polls, all of the data you’ve gathered from your constituents says no data center. Yet you’re going to approve one because somebody who isn’t your constituent paid you to.”

If they’re coming from Miami, maybe they can return our king rat, Brad Marchand, to us.

Coming from Miami, dress warm. It’s going to be cold once the sun goes down from here on out. Expect high 50’s during the day most of the week, which I assume is cold for you.

I don’t experience this to a serious degree, and am able to kind of sweep it away without a ton of effort, but what you’re experiencing is called limerance. I don’t believe there is a clinically established link between ADHD and limerance, but I think thats more due to a lack of targeted studies rather than anything else. I learned the term from this subreddit and I believe it’s a common enough experience in ADHD and autism to a degree as well.

You’re certainly not weird for having to deal with this, but it is something to try to work on. I’d do some reading on limerance, and if you have a therapist it might be something to discuss and delve into a bit so that you can try to learn not to drive yourself crazy about it.

Almost like a good on ice product doesn’t make people richer. You can make a luxury spend as enticing as possible, but if I don’t have the money then I don’t have the money. You can’t impress me out of being poor.

To me, the biggest issue is that you’re going to end up paying double at the dealership for the same work. I took my wife’s Corolla for her last free oil change at the dealership and they said she needed brakes and gave me a quote for like $1500 for 4 sets of pads and rotors. I laughed my way out of the building and got it done at an independent for half the price. I know a chunk of that is the difference between OEM and AM parts, but it’s things like that why I’ll never voluntarily bring my car to a dealership for service.

I’ve been pouring a can of ginger ale and a couple ounces of cheap apple brandy and fireball in a mason jar with some ice, a little lemon juice, and a splash of maple syrup and have come out with a halfway decent spiced apple, cider-ish drink. It’s nothing highbrow, but I’d say it comes out better than what you’d expect based on the quality of the ingredients.

Basically just using what I have kicking around to get rid of the cheap bottle of apple brandy and fireball, in a seasonally appropriate manner.

Basically. Especially considering multiple people in this thread have described it as “radio-ready”, and the term butt rock comes from radio stations that played “nothing but rock.”

We had that at the beginning of the year too. Poor execution and low percentage plays left and right. We got beat twice and got a couple practices in after a road trip and things turned around.

Missed calls, makeup calls, ghost calls. The reffing was bad in both directions tonight. To my eye it ended up roughly even, but it wasn’t called well for sure.

I doubt he’s spent a day of his life repressing it

Also AuDHD. I tend to do it when I get home from work. I need a few minutes to sit in a place where I’m alone and there is minimal external stimulus. Even when I go inside I usually ask my wife to give me an hour or so before we do the “how was your day” thing.

Personally, I can’t fully relax if there are people around. Being perceived and perceiving others puts me in a state of hyper vigilance that drains my batteries. My wife is very understanding about this and she’ll make solo plans out of the house every few weekends so that I can be alone and recharge a bit. It’s not about her specifically or anyone else, I just need to know that I’m the only person in my space or else I’ll be on alert.

Is it a grinding/scraping noise or a clunking/knocking noise? Grinding would indicate you need a bearing, clunking would be a CV axle. You’ll hear both when turning, but braking shouldn’t make your axle make noise, but is likely to make an old bearing squeal. Either way, it’s nothing super urgent, but you’ll want to get it addressed in the next couple months. Both are normal wear and tear, so it’s good to get familiar with what they sound like because you’ll have to do it again if you plan on owning the vehicle for a long time.

Can’t wait for the 8 minutes of new songs next month 😂

The money isn’t the only cost for most people though. These things are stressful and time consuming, and sometimes getting fired and moving on to something else is a blessing in disguise. The dollars aren’t always worth the cost of the added stress and having to relive and re-litigate your past stressful environment.

Your primary care can do this for you. I took 2 months of FMLA last year following my ADHD/GAD/PDD diagnoses. I hit a wall and succumbed to the burnout and needed some time to work through it. I asked my therapist to fill out the paperwork and they told me to have my primary care do it, and that’s what I did. Got the time approved and got paid through the states PFML.

The process was a little frustrating. For whatever reason they couldn’t get my employment/W2 records from the IRS and kept my claim on hold until the last minute they legally could despite me sending them everything they asked for the day they asked me for it. When I had my zoom hearing to plead my case the lady literally logged on and said she has everything needs and is approving my claim, and hung up on me without me saying a single word. So it all ended up fine for me in the end, but I just say this for you to be prepared to be frustrated by the process.
