As someone who was looking into it as well, this is good to know. What did it for you? The one size fits someone mounting solution, limited computational power/overheating, or the it be good if they cared enough to fix it tracking
firefish5000
Remember, you only have 14 days to return (with 90usd restocking fee)

Freedom? Samsung offers none of that, android is only a bit more open than apple these days as well. Most of the things we liked from android apple adopted, except custom launcher, tasker, and Firefox with extensions/adblock for me.
If the bootloader was still unlocked I would have no problem with getting a galaxy xr... But even as I'm trying to convince myself I find the existing user base is advising it's mid at best and isn't really receiving active levels of development... It is at least openxr compatible which is the one thing that is a hard block for apple vp

The type of people who get ink* printers are the majority of the world. Laser printers are expensive and the cartridges are more expensive to replace and they can print less pages. The vast majority of home owners have it as a just in case I have to print something option, and the printer refuses to print due to the timer on the cartige or ink tank gets clogged because it's been 6 months since you last printed off some tickets . No one cares about business on a open printer, businesses buy printers the size of 4 men and pay for a service crew
firefish5000
Inkjet/tank Printers really should have a built-in maintance option like "print 1 test page after idling 7/15/30 days"

Don't understand how a company selling out of their product faster than they can manufacture them is ever procieved as anything but a win. I get your upset you can't get one, but nothing embarrassing about it for the company
firefish5000
I just want to switch over to stardustxr and start developing for an xr desktop environment but alas, with the way chip/memory fabs are today I'm not sure I will even get a chance in 2027
firefish5000
I don't have one but I'll go ahead and say yes so long as it's rated for the speed. It will add some latency however, but you can even run a eGPU across a parking lot througb a couple thunderbolt 4 passthrough docks over usbc4 fiber cables as LTT has shown in the past with some success.

Gentoo is the most reliable disto of all the ones I tested, even with hundrades of 9999 live/bleeding edge git tracked packages. Though my willingness to follow the main git branch in the age of ai has fallen drasticly (supply chain/lib dependency risk have skyrocketed and no one has stepped up yet to perform the now necessary auditing of every push to every major package/library).

In USA self employment requires no paperwork, you just have to record your earnings properly when doing taxes. You can setup an LLC for some extra protections but by no means is it required. Doubt scalpers do though unless they are really raking it in
firefish5000
No I couldn't, not with him having signed up after the first round of randomization already occuring. If you signed up after the 17th your bound to be waitlisted behind those who signed up between 14th-17th
firefish5000
Just checked and only email I have was from me joining the waitlist once I got off work at 1500CT. No email about reservations opening either. Guess the months (tbh years) of regularly checking if steam frame/deckard was availible for purchase has finally paid off. Now to just sit in this waitlist slightly ahead of you for....

That is the job of the senior software developer. To become one you just have to delete it, get reprimended or fired, and live in fear for the rest of your life until one day your fixing your juniors mistake and thinking back about it.
Unless ofc, your company pushes to production. In which case this is just wensday

Its this type of crap I hate dealing with ai for. Constantly trying to take the shit way out and sed -i/rm -f/etc based on a basic regex pattern instead of using proper language aware refactoring tools (some of which we might need written, since they are language dependent and usualy tied to an ide instead of being cli accessible). Then it tries to rewrite the file from scratch 50% of the time instead of reverting (not an option in your case) and follows up by poluting the file, memory, commit history, and context with a novel about how it screwed up. its good until it makes a mistake, then if you miss anything context for all future sessions will be poluted with the mistake.
Good news is your starting off fresh. All that poluted history has been deleted!

Probably in your spam or filtered to a promotions label

I was prepared for 1400 so I'm pleasently surprised

I still love perl, but only for the regex. Moment there's a nonstring type to worry about I don't trust it anymore and switch to rust. So hard to diagnose once a module somewhere down the line has a non intuitive type coercion error. Like a string that could be accidentaly parsed into a number and is only an issue if 0/false. It works perfectly almost always and then just one thing fails and you cannot tell how it is any different from the rest of the data and it's always super obscure 2-3 modules in interacting with one another that cause the failure

Well I know how to program and use it for coding. The change from 4.8 to 5 was very easy to tell with just how it handled spawning agents in ultra code. Opus 5 in addition to not knowing to wait for monitors/workflows to return instead of polling, will repeatedly spawn 60-70 redundant agents (spawning 3+ per task for redundancy in case one agent misses something), then work on a bunch of "problems it found" while the workflow runs, then eventually cancel the workflow because it finished all the work before the workflow completed or reject the workflow because the verifier refuted a bunch of things bc it rewrote the API/etc while the workflow was running instead of waiting. Opus 5 requires you to be present to intervene at all times to just apply breaks.
Fable 5 has been pretty solid on the other hand. you can let it churn. Doesn't prompt as often as I'd prefer for decisions that should be made, but at least it's not actively making the code worse when I ask to just research something.

The AI has completely rewritten my project four times now, quadrupled the file count, And injected so much stale jargon, reasoning/explanations for things it didn't do, and unecessary graphs in the comments that I can hardly read a single file! Only ai can read this junk (/s sorta but not really)
firefish5000
Same here. Going to put StardustXR on it. Been wanting to help develop it from the beginning but quest 2/alxr wasn't good enough for me. Frame still isn't ideal Ppd/passthrough wise but I have no need to fear on the Linux/openxr support so there is just no OOTB competitor
firefish5000
The fact we can expect anything at all is just proof valve is worthwhile. I have 0 expectations of Microsoft. And all the memory and chip manufacturers are trillion dollar companies... Yet they can't get their act together enough to promise even a product in even a 8 month window at this point, are actively pulling out of consumer markets, and are jacking up prices like crazy. We should really have more fans and each country should be working to internalize their own stack since let's face it .. this industry is the industry needed by 99% of all non food products and is also a major part of national security, there is 0 reason we should be fully dependent on oversea manufactures, firmware, and software.
firefish5000
Adam isnt even in this space, I don't know why there are people using him as a benchmark for its release. He is not even a standard reviewer... His videos are more like just whatever caught his interest recently
firefish5000
I do not play games, my only interest in this is so I can start working inside StardustXR. I'd prefer higher Ppd and color passthrough with external compute, but this is the only Linux native out of the box headset . I'll take what I can get.

It take like 5 minutes to trace it into an svg... Assuming the wikimedia ones cannot be used
The reason I'm on this Reddit is to find out if argon is of any use at all or if it's just as crap as the rest of the Gemini models. If it's actually found the ram instead of making crap up and also didn't give a speech on the history of TVs and RAM, The dread of the memory crisis, history of ram cartels, vram, GPUs, bitcoin, and ai war lead up triggering the crisis. With the info I asked for buried in about eight words that the answer needed spread across three or four different paragraphs as an aside to the completely unwanted Wikipedia dumps.... Then Gemini might not be 100% useless anymore
