I can run the 68k Mac version on my Amiga under emulation. The biggest bottleneck is converting the mac's chunky graphics to Amiga planar for display, but if you are implementing it from scratch you can do everything the Amiga way.

I'm not talking about putting it on a 1 megabyte A500 here. Eight meg fast ram and an 030 is fine.

The Settlers II came out for the Amiga last year and needs 32Mb, though god knows what for because the DOS version only needs 8mb.

The surface-mount ones in the A1200 era machines were of really low quality, and leak, while the older ones in the 500 and c64 are better quality, and more likely to work, and continue working.
