Typical reddit moment. Replace the damaged speaker, hand her the bill. If she does not pay - replace her.

My man, I could talk all day about how our brain works with sound, and thus how good thing a subwoofer is, but keep in mind that in this subreddit 95% percent of the people are buying and "listening" with their eyes or reading reviews, not actually using their ears and what's between them. DM me if you want, I could give you some insights. And yes, I do use subwoofers despite my main speakers are with 12" low frequency drivers and yes, I use DSP and yes my system starts from 14 Hz up to 40000 with ribbon tweeters.
