I'm just trying to figure why the actual base/main version numbers aren't being updated - why aren't they incrementing 8.2 to 8.5 updates? (Based on this link). I've got a cPanel instance on 8.2, and its current version is 8.2.34 but build date is Oct 21st.

I can understand 5.2 to 8.1 getting -latest version (like 8.1 is ea-php81: 8.1.34-4), but shouldn't everything after that just get the official PHP versioning number?

fuzzball007

We literally can't update it at the moment, the patched versions aren't out yet. This is likely the next best thing until then

Ugh, 1am my time. Guess some of my VPSs are gonna need me awake at that time

The main comment (straight from their article):

Snopes found no credible evidence that Ukrainian strikes on Yandex servers starting on Oct. 8 took Russian propaganda bots offline

The only way to provide proof that Zelenskyy's claim is incorrect is to see if what he said, happened, which guessing based on what they found is false.

just cut off his arms then he can only do legged robbery

I think its a byproduct of the environment or group some people are in. Since everything they read and everyone they know says only one thing, they genuinely can't comprehend there are different viewpoints (especially really strong, different ones) to what they know since its all they've heard. Irrational to the point where the only explanation conceivable is that it's not a real person.

fuzzball007

This is a post from the Skeptics Stack Exchange with more info (saying the same thing as you).

Remember, misinformation is only bad when its something you don't like

fuzzball007

You could still manually write skills then but have something check it vs the existing skills?

fuzzball007

we should find this 'median person' and give them a stern talking to. why do they get to decide who is rich and poor???

fuzzball007

large if factual

LinkedIn is really expensive to advertise on (compared to other social platforms), most of the ads are B2B sales or high ticket SaaS products, few other bits and pieces but eventually all funneled towards the goal of large purchases or subscriptions. So the average target audience for LinkedIn isn't unemployed people, maybe for organic traction but definitely not for who the ads are serving too (execs, upper tier management etc)

Sorry for the delays, we paid around $23k November last year (including single phase AC EV charger, HWHP and switchboard upgrade), the rebate was much larger and I think pricing was more competitive. Our installer was very cheap, still not sure how they pulled it off as they were rated quite well - other installers were quoting $27-30k for the same system. My parents paid a bit less for a smaller system with the same group just a couple months ago.

fuzzball007

I'm not familiar with your inverter/battery brand (so no comment), panels are good. Price is also fairly dependent on complexity of install (eg how many roof faces, height, distance from board etc), so can be hard to get equivalent comparisons. If you get more than one quote it should give you an idea if one provider is overly expensive.

Before our system we didn't use all that much power (maybe 7 to 15kwh/day), got 14.7/10/40.29 installed, switched to plans which had free power windows and our usage skyrocketed given we had the free power to do so. More ACs, doing things whenever we wanted and also the hot water went gas -> heatpump as well. Use on average 45kwh/day (maybe less so in autumn/spring weather) and maybe ~20kwh/day for both our EVs as an average.

Basically free all year, just paying supply charge + what we can export in the evenings to get us around $1 credit a day. There's a few other plans where you can get a bit more for exports, but for this time of year we're still sticking with free-window ones.

If you are getting your hot water replaced, you won't be able to cut your gas supply (if you have a stove/oven on gas), but the hot water system for us used probably 98% of our gas usage - so essentially just paying $1/day for supply. So that can be something that's factored in (since the electricity will be free)

I'm happy to pay tax

Well not through the tradie I guess

fuzzball007

Based on where I am/the market I'm in, $400 in management for $1,500 spend is very reasonable (if anything its on the cheaper side for an agency).

As to the performance, depends on a bunch of factors whether they're not giving your account enough time, not enough experience (eg junior with no oversight) or not enough overall agency expertise for your sector. Do you know if the agency has other clients in similar sectors or sizes?

Some Google Ads courses can be good (just not the Google ones, they're not worth their time), but then you're turning yourself into a mini Google Ads specialist to do so.

Given you don't enjoy it, you're probably better off hunting for another agency/freelancer, but if you're not seeing results from the current agency you could go back to managing it yourself until you find another group who can do it.

Amusing but ironically its the objectively best financial advice you can give for the situation

Inflation is made up? Is this what this sub has divulged to?

Not entirely sure what your angle is - we definitely upgraded because there was a warning pushed on your own system that said the free tier was not available for commercial use (we had been using it commercially on the free plan until that point). Maybe your rules have changed now but for a while that was definitely the requirement

fuzzball007

Not sure where the notice was/is, but 6-12 months ago I had the same thing pop up. Not sure if it was enforced or just a warning, but I took action when it happened (opted just to upgrade lol)

fuzzball007

Posts like this give me hope in the PPC space since it shows there's a whole bunch of people who have NFI what they're doing, and will blame the platform rather than checking their own ads/setup

fuzzball007

I think the platform does have more instability than other PPC/ad platforms, but 95% of the posts here claiming outages are just people who likely don't know anything and are blaming Meta for their poor performance

fuzzball007

Thanks! I'm happy to do this over email too if that works better. Feature requests so understand if they aren't put in!
