but what are we expecting any admin to do to "address affordability", it doesn't make sense as a policy goal to me.

They are expecting Democrats to take back the power of the purse from this maniac in the White House. The outcome being that they cancel his blank check to start wars whenever he feels like it and pass laws that prevent him from leveraging tariffs on any country with a leader that doesn’t praise him.

That alone would have dramatically positive impacts on our economy.

They expect them to do things to slow down or reverse the ongoing largest transfer of wealth and income inequality growth in our nation’s history. Like ending tax loopholes for the wealthy and large corporations. Which will increase tax revenue and help pay for things like programs that help people in need and provide healthcare.

They expect them to undo all the damage Trump is doing to our nation’s regulatory arms and end the free for all corporate greed that went into overdrive when he started doing that. Price gouging, blatant anti-trust violations, enshitification, crypto scams, betting markets. All the things the FTC, CFTB, FDIC, FCC, FDA and CPSC were vigorously going after.

When prices come down, guess what will help our farmers and the food industry even more... Not kicking people off of welfare programs and medicaid. Because those people are literally millions of customers for that industry.

Guess what else will boost that industry... immigrant workers. The ones that farmers are on social media crying about not having anymore. Farms are folding because they can’t hire people to work their fields.

Typically people who don’t understand the role the government plays in the economy are often victims of a little too much small government propaganda.

EXHIBIT A:

It's not like the government can bring down the price of anything

I’d like to introduce you to a word that, I assume, you’ve NEVER heard before. It’s called... subsidies.

I’m not "getting slammed”. I’m a veteran DMZ player and hold my own just fine with sweats. I’m just seeing all the posts from casual players and can see they are already getting fed up with it. Just like last time.

You see, I’m just saying things that are true and trying to have a constructive conversation about it. Why do you keep getting emotional, like a woman?

g0stsec

What other guy? You didn’treply to a comment. You replied to my post.

Do you know how to use reddit?

g0stsec

Settle down little fella. It’s just a discussion.

A lot of what you said is correct. The devs made a lot of changes that will make being a toxic PvP player a lot more difficult and I hope it works. The people reacting like my post says “I WANT NO PVP AT ALL OMG MAKE IT STOP!!” are really making me concerned that reading is hard for them.

My ideas I added are just in case it doesn’t. It’s weird that you said “the game’s been out for a week bro it’s not getting abandoned” That sounds like you aren’t aware that this isn’t the first DMZ and that we don’t already know it was abandoned last time. Are you aware this isn’t the first DMZ?

g0stsec

Yeah sure. Couple quick fact checks.

  1. “a pvp game” is literally incorrect. It’s PvPvE.
  2. I’m saying punish toxic PvP not all PvP. Trying to discourage the players that just go in to do just PvP in a game mode that was designed to be WAY more than that.
  3. PvP itself isn’t an issue. It’s part of the fun of the game. I’m just saying what we all know is true. People see the DMZ mode. Go in and try to do all the things and enjoy all the cool new game mechanics. Then run into people that are literally doing nothing but hunting players and camping exfils. Every... Single... Game... Until they leave. Then Activision sees the low player numbers and stops developing it again.

Does that answer your questions?

g0stsec

Yeah. No PvP would be boring as hell. Good thing that’s not at all what I said.

g0stsec

Dang bro. It sounds like your life really sucks right now. If being an ass on the internet is what it takes for you to feel better, I sincerely hope things improve for you.

g0stsec

The only people left in PvPvE will be people hunting other people.

That’s what it is now. That’s why people are complaining. This is literally op’s point.

It completely ruins the PvPvE game mode, it turns it into Warzone with bots.

Again, this is the problem. The toxic players are purposely trying to make it that. Them and the Warzone rejects who need easy targets like people trying to do missions.

g0stsec

I’ve read that’s because its default app for shopping lists is the Reminders app. It wants to create lists in the reminders app, so trying to do it in notes screws it up

THIS... This is why I think it is incredibly dangerous when people insist that Democrats should not "waste time" trying to undo all the damage that trump is doing to our country, including impeaching him and his cabinet members.

To me, as a Centrist, the Democrats' true test will be whether they can walk and chew bubble gum at the same time.

g0stsec

It’s almost like we’re in some sort of attention economy or something.

g0stsec

It’s not purely team voting. You just have to look at the numbers to see that. Right now, 73% of Republicans still approve of Trump. But his approval floor sits consistently at 33-35%.

That 35% of the population that never wavers doesn’t really give a shit about parties. When you open your mind to the fact that 34% of the population IS Trump, that all makes sense.

That 34% of the population is comprised of well off people, who think their circumstances are the result of them just being better than people who haven’t been financially successful. Think narcissists and general assholes who need to believe everyone beneath them is scum. Not to mention all the wealthy people who don’t feel that way but know that Trump’s divisiveness keeps the poor focused on fighting for scraps and not wielding pitchforks.

Then there’s the racists. Same concept of a need for superiority, just race based. They love anything that hurts people of color and Jews. Again nothing to do with party loyalty. But iif you’ve never achieved much in your life but need to feel superior to people of color who have, then racism is a nice warm blanket to wrap yourself in and feel better.

And, finally the last facet of Trump, the stupid ones. The marks. Cult followers that are just naturally inclined to believe in and follow any leader they think is strong. Or that like how he “talks on their level”. Anyone who listens to Trump speak for more than 5 minutes can see he’s a moron who lies constantly. But for stupid people… he’s down to earth, easy to understand, and has a good heart. They believe he loves America, even as he openly and brazenly uses the White House to enrich himself and his family while making statements that clearly demonstrate he is every bit the narcissist spoiled and entitled rich person he appears to be. That thinks our troops are just the population dumb enough to sign up for service.

It’s not parties. 34% of our population simply falls into these categories or a combination of them.

Except for his first term, grab em by the pussy, I like troops who DONT get captured, January 6th, birtherism, and literally any video of him talking for more than 5 minutes… ever.

But other than that, there was just no way to know…

g0stsec

it is unclear if Democrats have found a viable counter to the attacks

The viable counter to the attacks is to talk about the economy. Keep asking the GOP why they keep bringing this up when Trump got re-elected because voters were unhappy with the economy under Biden. Then talk about the economy some more along with what they’ll do to fix it.

g0stsec

Google’s version is slow too. They added Gemini and it slowed down all responses and actions significantly.

g0stsec

Honestly, I’d be less upset if they just did that.

Meta’s Muse and OpenAI’s Dots are behind a paywall. I’d happily pay a little more on my iCloud subscription for an Apple version that has personal context from my other apps if it actually worked.

g0stsec

Not a single word you said here changes the fact that it’s bad, though.

Complaining about the people complaining, when you can’t say they’re wrong... is weird energy.

g0stsec

Trump can make his core followers accept anything. Socialism, fascism, even blasphemy.

He is their GOD now.

The rest of the people that will still vote for him do so because they are actually still doing OK in spite of the economy. So the social wedge issues still work for them. Hating political rivals, immigrants, LGBT people, non-Christians.

They go along with him being disgusting and embarrassing because he is a MENACE to the people they hate.

They block out the blatant grifting and incompetence by ignoring it or claiming they’re not following that closely because they are too busy being hard working red blooded Americans. Anyone who points it out to them are just woke and triggered. Which they like.

g0stsec

I see now, thanks!

g0stsec

Interesting. I assumed incorrectly that it was telling me it can only run and suggest shortcuts and if I wanted to create shortcuts from scratch I could do it myself in the shortcuts app.

Let’s say my assumption was correct though... How would you have reworded the response I got from Siri? Or could that statement understandably be taken either way?

g0stsec

No, I just made an incorrect assumption. I’ll point out though, that the response I got is also exactly what it would say if my assumption was correct and I had to do it manually from the Shortcuts app.
