Zombies die to Mortars, and later on to Outriders with grenade launchers.

You can get use out of the workshop in the first 10 turns, and in only gets stronger from there. The siege can be beaten with artillery in one turn. It's not that that her start is completely brainless, but let's not pretend that it's ot the easiest out of the entire Empire roster.

g4nk3r

But at least the media is reporting on it as much as they did on Bidens age issues, right?

g4nk3r

Elspeths start was never very hard. You have a great artillery piece right from the get go, can shoot+Spirit Leech enemy lords to death and have a pretty rich starting province. Almost all of the difficulty goes out of the window once you start unlocking her workshop.

Yes you are? Bought my current phone used in 2021, still works fine.

g4nk3r

So Elspeth finally has a challenging start? Sounds great!

I am not denying that the game ultimately failed to meet expectations, just questioning if wasn't profitable in the end.

g4nk3r

Same for Origins honestly.

I hate how elves in fantasy are mostly just better humans, so DA2's design is also my favorite.

g4nk3r

The comment wasn't deleted, they just blocked you lol

g4nk3r

Wasn't Andromeda at least profitable? Initial impressions weren't great, but it wasn't a total bomb when compared to Anthem or Veilguard.

Depends on your expectations. I disliked the writing, sanitized world building, lack of choice import and missing party control. Also the combat system which got very tedious after hour 20.

Its still as disjointed as it was at release. The reason for all the weirdness is that Veilguard was originally envisioned as a live service game, then pivoted to being singleplayer. But the team wasn't given neither the time nor resources to properly implement that switch, being told numerous times that the game had to come out in six months, thus preventing them from taking big swings. That happened two or three times, and after that control over the project was given to the Mass Effect team (along with the resources the DA team was asking for),who are mainly responsible for the last act.

I'd give Dragon Age to Owlcat, their writing style and CRPG know-how could do wonders to make a game similar to Origins. Mass Effect is tough, maybe give that to CDPR? I love Larian, but find their writing to be too much on the silly side to give them either of these mostly serious franchises.

Na, in KCD the story is very personal to Henry. Playing as just about any Joe Schmoe wouldn't have worked.

g4nk3r

Might be a cost saving measure.

g4nk3r

Both Expanse and Exodus are coming out next year, and look to be in a similar vein to at least Mass Effect and the last two DA games.

g4nk3r

That would depend entirely on the voice acting for me. Doesn't matter much how my character looks.

g4nk3r

Female Jun is coming, the studio is planning to reveal her soon.

g4nk3r

It's also the reason why we never got Joplin.

g4nk3r

EA expected about 3 million copies sold three months after launch, which isn't entirely outrageous since the predecessor to VG sold about 12 million over it's lifetime, and every other DA game cleared at least 2 million in that timeframe.

g4nk3r

Valve does not go to any show to announce something, they'll just put up an ad on Steam and their socials on a random Tuesday in February.

g4nk3r

According to Gaider BioWare valued writing less and less over the years, and that disrespect clearly showed in their last three games.

g4nk3r

EA expected 3 million in sales after 3 months. We don't know how they are calculating players playing via their/others subscription service vs a direct sale, hence the use of "engaged".

g4nk3r

We got numbers for Veilguard though? Granted, only for three months after release, but still. The game underperformed by 50% according to EA's expectations, engaging 1.5 million players
