Until the standard dupr at $19 doesn't allow something else and you need to "plus plus" version that will drop something else so you will need the "plus plus pro"....

gbin

Thanks! So I think we agree right? You design a piece of middleware for robots and the default is a non monotonic clock... Why would you do this?

I glossed over the last part but in copper-rs "Instant" is not a compatible type with "Time" so people don't mix local HP measures with the sync'ed clock that might have drifted from it, I'll add that to the article.

gbin

For the ROS afficionados, am I offbase on the current implementation? (Check the end of the article) Overall this looks like an abysmal specification and implementation of robot clocks all across the board to me.

gbin

I understand your confusion, this is because you didn't see the nuclear detonation that just occured in the valley next to it...

I am around 3.0 and I just feel that this is already not true: for example basically every "safe" drop that might land one foot too deep will come back at the speed of sound at 90% success rate for the opponent but if I try to do a proper drop the success rate is basically 20% for me (ie 80% in the net).

I know I need to drill but just to say, this keep the ball in advice feels basically not really actionable.

Near then obviously

Hey u/jhill515 for 1. we do have every single timestamp recorded when the sources get their info from the sensors + the time of validity of every single message so it should be easy to see if the hardware itself is actually lagging.

  1. we have a notion of monitor on the execution, and you can react to any error or time limits on any of the tasks monitored, it just get called back then you can for example switch from one "mission" to another which is a kind of mode in the system (for example nominal / degraded) another possibility is to have another copper just dormant locally isolated or on another node and the monitor just unlocks it if the main one is erroring or nor responding.

2b. when you have long processing like the perception usually people "backgrounds" it so it becomes kind of best effort and not clogging the main loop. When a task is in the background we just record when it got called then the copper list the answer went back into the the system and we deterministically reproduce that on replay

Sorry OP but no. You never met this person right?

  1. They assume you should be excited about the date. You come up like yourself you don't want to go OR worse than she doesn't want to.

Something like: "I can't wait to meet you in person! I remember you like sushi, found this place, 8pm works for you?"

  1. "I want you to be happy" is just insane to say in this context, are you having a fight or something? Any sane person 2 weeks in will wonder wtf is going on here...

So maybe this person is callous because she did not try to understand but this is on you, she should never have to try to understand anything on something that simple.

This facemask like vibe this projects is an absolute no-no for me.

gbin

We were 2 + invited 2 friends :)

gbin

Not when I was there but you should ask around

gbin

Last time I went there was a pickleball court right under the Tokyo tower, that was an absolute blast.

gbin

I hate it... Created Copper which is an actual OS for robotics competing with ROS which is NOT a Robot Operating System.

gbin

And mostly empty, like a clump of a 6 to a dozen with a perfect California weather, not one player -_-. As you can imagine the paying facilities are struggling.

gbin

Maybe not impossible but very slow indeed: for ref, you start 2.8, 8 matches 5 wins including 2 pickles. 3 losses where I basically only served or received but never touched a 3rd shot. You gain few hundrenths of dupr or so.

gbin

Same situation here, I believe this is impossible if you don't do that with a reliable partner. Ie. You play against 2.5 people so you have to pickle them (11-0), always, every lost point and your dupr gets an heavy hit. So if you get paired with someone also from around the same level, you'll get iced and there is so much you can do about it: stacking and they might get offended or confused, poaching like crazy opening up the court ...

gbin

Superbe immersive experience but the site looks completely slammed lol. I cannot even play against a bot for a quick try (stuck at loading model)

gbin

I am part of the anyone else here. But I genuinely don't know what you specifically refer to.

It is too easy to post crap about "they". You don't even share the where .. reddit? Arch wiki? AUR comments?

It is somewhat like the cop stopping you and asking you "why do you think I stopped you?".

gbin

Some transfer from one sport to another: tennis to pickleball for example

gbin

This is some textbook whataboutism argument: Pharma industry being bad doesn't make suddenly drug dealing cartels good or equally bad.

Easy: when everyone start to have their little hidden agenda when placing their paddle on the rack. OMFG 3 paddles on the next game slot, 2 on the next one, a lone paddle on the third, a full set on the last... Then the paddle lice starts to form, COURT! everyone is confused as fuck, the last group starts to break off in an attempt to unlock the situation that is drifting toward a polite diplomatic incident as some SJW notices someone skipped the line for this poor lone paddle on rack #3...

Can we just play in order and move on??

gbin

It is more about spotting larger QC issues at those paddle manufacturers? See the fiasco with the perma grits that get wiped out after a few games, if we don't talk we don't know which are the good batches, which are not.

gbin

Nothing like that on mine but I noticed your cert number on the bottom left is not at the same spot. I bought mine direct from Honolulu.

Skyways V3 drones do use those, for another reason but still ;)
