It should be set up as an Equity account....

gcullup

No

gcullup

You need to record the interest and the reconcile it.

gcullup

Yep! Exactly

gcullup

Move the payment (2nd one) to the new profile and then apply it to the invoice on the 2nd profile. This should kill 2 birds with one stone, as long as invoice and payment dates are accurate.

gcullup

You're not gonna stand for it either, I assume?

gcullup

Yup

If it's your business, you don't HAVE TO pay it back, though you certainly can if you would like to. There's a bazillion ways to get the money into your business, the easiest of which, if your accounts are all linked, is to transfer the money in from your personal account...

Something to always try is change the year on one transaction to like 2099 then run a CF Statement for the year 2099 and see if it's appearing the way you'd expect...

gcullup

Cool and have you been reconciling the loan account and attributing interest at reconciliation time?

gcullup

How are your payments getting recorded from a transactional perspective?

gcullup

It depends how thorough your bookkeeping is

gcullup

Every bank would handle this differently - consider switching to CSV or QBO file uploads and disconnecting the bank feed for a minute while they work it out

gcullup

The general ledger will show you what the ledger balance is - credits by nature are "negative" in a ledger

gcullup

Run the balance sheet, it will show up positive

gcullup

They're showing up negative on the Balance Sheet or on the Trial Balance? Should appear negative on a single column TB but positive on the BS

gcullup

Yuck sorry you're going thru that and wish I had some advice!

gcullup

If you're a proadvisor you probably have priority support.. Go to https://qbo.intuit.com/app/proadvisor and scroll to the support section.... I hate to suggest it but if you just Googled for QBO support, you may have reached a scammer, they are very devious in appearing like they are Intuit when they are not - if that's the case, you may have a much larger problem on your hands than just moving a subscription.... I've been QBO exclusively in my practice for 10 years and have never been asked to execute a script in order for their software to work...

gcullup

Just download a CSV (or QBO if they have it) file from the bank for the gap and import that

gcullup

Wait.... What? I might be missing something, but you want to have them in your list of available files while simultaneously not having access to the file? How would that work?

gcullup

You were invited as a regular user, but with the "accountant user" role - dumb stupid and confusing....

You need to have the client go into the same screen (gear, manage users) but then they'll notice along the top an "Accountants" tab - THIS is where they will need to add you.

One more word of advice - on your side, log out of QBOA before accepting the invite. It seems to be working more frequently than it used to, but it would often give me errors when accepting while being logged in.

Congrats!

My point wasn't about the capitalization (my phone's autocorrect) - it was about the use of the cryllic o which made it look like a regular o

gcullup

Few people actually take the time to open the headers of emails... Theres also other devious ways to make it look like Intuit.com like intuit.cоm

gcullup

Email addresses can easily be spoofed

As I was starting out, I tried myriad different methods - I gained a small amount of traction with Craigslist and Upwork, as well as subbing for other bookkeeping firms. I now use a totally different method which is Facebook heavy. The program I follow is run by Cameron Montgomery and his company is Apex Methods and he teaches beginner organic market through advanced marketing, for only $77 a month... I might suggest that to be a much better use of your funds at this stage of your journey.

One of the biggest things I wish I had figured out sooner was to stay away from an hourly mindset, and instead provide value at a flat rate per month. Right now my most basic client pays me $425 a month and I complete his work in less than an hour each month. I have a few clients over 4k per month, but obviously I go way beyond transactional bookkeeping with them...
