I'm not disputing that bots can try to realise arbitrage opportunities by getting first in block. They're not copying someone else transaction and replacing any addresses though.

Not sure why no one has said this, but you can't replace someone's address with your address. Changing the address would alter the hash causing the transaction to fail.

The linked issue was caused by a bug in Vyper versions 0.2.15, 0.2.16 and 0.3.0, which is used by a number of DeFi pools, allowing an inappropriate reentracy lock.

Can you link the specific exploit that was used by the bot?

A lot of people are saying the receiving address was changed by the bot. I highly doubt that exploit exists.
