I wish. masks and cult robes exist to disrupt network connectivity of animal signalling.

6th is looking up to NUSA pre last corpo war, with gender wars not part of history - i'd expect them to be completely uninterested and more bickering over who has vet cred and who not. what i do expect from them is in true redneck fashion answering someone's stated intention in this regard with 'ok' and expecting it to be followed up with biosculpts/chrome and never mentioned again.

gigglephysix

no. it's lore and internal logic of the setting that there is no systemic bigotry because the biological basis is understood and replicated in digital and cyberware/mesh has rendered all biological essentialism pointless. animal uniformity bigotry/xenoaggression response isn't the only thing affected, it has also disempowered religions for the same reason.

Individually though every gang/corp can have a cell/office run by a psychopath - and those tend to prey on every weakness/difference they encounter.

The only clinging bioconservative power were the Inquisitors - and CTRL+ALT+DEL bless Maelstrom for making a positive difference in the lives of everyone.

it is an exceptionally insane idea that comes from not understanding the historical patchwork of additive and multiplicative calculations in D&D and using a slapped on modifier as a lazy way to raise difficulty as if it was a numbers-go-up Diablo, without even an awareness of the simulation aspect D&D contains. Probably done by someone young and playing D&D against GM

But no you don't even need a mod. All you need is to be aware that it exists and that it can be turned off in the difficulty customisation screen.

gigglephysix

oh no, you did not understand the full extent of it. It applies a +2 global modifier on ALL rolls (not just spellcasting) for enemies and a -2 global modifier for your party. (it's now hidden in math lines but used to be as crude as limiting a d20 to 18, with three 1s EXPLICITLY). So technically it applies a 4-point difference on EVERYTHING, and i hope i don't have to explain how that applies to spell saves)

gigglephysix

Thank Maelstrom and their fluffy loveliness for there technically being no such thing anymore. And good riddance.

gigglephysix

people in c20xx other than corpos don't exactly have 'rights'. It's that 'free speech' has to be levelled at people whose common, normal in-universe response to dysphoria is 60kg of 3rd party chrome of varying legality at 16

gigglephysix

Still a base Quasar. Upgraded with Wallpuncher and in personal canon renamed Straftanz

gigglephysix

yes the absolute knowledge of how it works, the pinpoint perfection of your will, the courage it takes to do this, and last but not least if it's not on social media it's not real.

it's like an inverse of the Black Pyramid turned into a swimming pool full of green jelly

gigglephysix

it's real but is a catch all term for cyberware related dissociation and proprioception conflicts - and a whole lot of mental fuckery that otherwise would be a regular psychosis but since military hardware is involved warrants maxtac.

And if even oemware can throw a proprioception conflict (as i learned at 5) then sure as hell cyberware with neofunctionality like extra datastreams and functions can.

gigglephysix

Core is a misleading term that makes you think of PnP. but it has not only inflated enemy stats (acceptable and fair enough imo, counters being able to save) but it has an across the board global roll modifier, which is a complete munchkin nonconsensual inflicted on D&D maths. Normal is the difficulty that does not have global roll modifiers. I play on custom Core with modifiers removed but it takes being familiar with the spirit of D&D rules to:

  1. recognise what atrocity a global modifier is and what exactly it does e.g. understand that it will make your spells fail to a point they're useless and one point in global makes a 20% probability difference.
  2. be able to recognise it among all customisable values
  3. not feel you're cheating if you play without the modifier

best series. i particularly liked the message of replacing a rotten codebase ridden with hardcoded hate.

gigglephysix

aww cute, kiss

gigglephysix

gods everyone is useless. deviled kidneys or go home.

gigglephysix

either you're just similar girls (by which i mean you have a clear material path to implementing the rolemodel template) or it's a pointless chase of being someone else. the latter btw is grippy sock place material, i've seen a beautiful 6'1 Lucy Lawless clone wanting to be Kylie and it was a road to madness literally.

gigglephysix

not really - it's chrome as gnostic ascension (and a religious trial - you're not worthy if you go low-functioning) and rogue AGIs as their pantheon.

gigglephysix

maelstrom mum - maelstrom daughter-apprentice.

gigglephysix

biotechnica bodysculpts are way more advanced and the set can include vatgrown organs

gigglephysix

intracultural values, this world - women believe in commitment and all-in, men used to but these days 'have too much to lose socially'.

also same reason why Claire is anti-chrome - they tried to pander to bioessentialists and nons.

gigglephysix

i love the actual depth that went into the character - but siding with Emhyr comes much easier for me, to put it in a very understated way.

gigglephysix

Take it from the purest distilled source, of the kind that does not play nicely with that word and sees it as too impure and too baseline - i'm joining Maelstrom at 16, for shiny metal to burn out and excise every residue and replace it with steel and silicon. Who needs humanity - i'm already glitched out and have to tear out OEM shit, and have no 'natural' state, only rejection pattern cyberpsychosis in game terms - everything i install is a clear improvement and more me than the negative value shit i came with, even all out neofunctionality. You can count on having a second Patricia. And as a bonus, speaking about the first one - her epitaph hits MUCH harder if we read it in this context.

gigglephysix

it's great, i recommend, in the context of Starfield or otherwise.

gigglephysix

Technically they were. halfway so. Egypt (excepting the very earliest dynasties) had Kemetic natives (the current Christian Copts) and Nubians the same way Belgium has two ethnicities. Both considered native, both part of aristocracy and part of the cultural life. Nubians were black. So yes southern Egyptian pyramid complexes were built by a majority black population. And there even were black (well mixed race - you had to marry into Kemetic royal family) pharaohs and i don't mean Nyary. (btw i'm white, i just know history enough to know it isn't cut and dry, nothing is.)

gigglephysix

To see someone else purely as a means to your ends is the only evil in that equation. What they meant was evil - to force me to live out their dream, with no regard to what i myself want. And i see it only as what evil really is - base, pathetic and selfishly banal. I'm glad i could put an end to it.

gigglephysix

in this timeline they are absolutely welcome.
