I hit my wall with that game against the lady in the snow. I couldn't ever get past her first phase except a couple times and immediately got melted after. Moved on to other games and just never picked it up again.

If you were impressed by the game and enjoyed it that's awesome and I'm happy for you. If you don't understand why people were disappointed then idk what to tell you, except you've either never read the thousands of comments explaining the issues and reasons the game was disappointing, you're being wilfully ignorant, or you have no reading comprehension.

Personally I'd disagree with starfield being a better combat experience on the whole. Like yeah I'll give starfield a point because the actual feel of shooting is better than fallout (imo not even that huge), but imo it's worse in every other way.

Enemy variety is worse, modding is worse, melee is worse, combat skills are worse (unless you spend a hundred hours just leveling up the space shouts), legendary items are worse, stealth is worse, dynamic encounters are worse...

If you ignore the space shouts, the very first shooting engagement in starfield is basically identical to playing the game at level 100. There's nothing like the fat man, bloody mess, mysterious stranger, etc to change up the game feel.
