yeah they make sure to mention that in the article but they don't explicitly connect that to how they discovered this person - probably so people will assume that just noticed by happenstance because they were close. but the article is suspiciously careful about not mentioning anything specific. 

it's not clear to me how the cops were alerted to her actions - are they just constantly patrolling the sky with drones now?

PIPs are (ostensibly) about improving your work performance because you're not meeting expectations. this seems like it's way outside the original intent of a PIP - like what are this guy's goals for improvement going to be, don't sexually harass anyone anymore? that shouldn't be a goal that ever needs to be set! 

In the spring I tried to report this to DTE. Their security email address bounced and there's no security contact listed anywhere. This is very unusual; normally there is a dedicated contact point for security.

this is unfortunate but I wouldn't say ~unusual, lots of companies don't prioritize security. and now, if they do have an internal team, that team is getting hammered by llm-generated bug bounty reports that are wrong or greatly overemphasize the severity of discovered risks. the state of the industry sucks for everyone right now.

I'd assume for most people, if an attacker gets control of their email account, the attacker has several paths to sensitive pii, so I'm not surprised they don't consider this one instance especially egregious. 

all that being said, this is still a good writeup! as you look for future vulns, consider that teams will heavily prioritize ones that are immediately exploitable against them. 

I typed all of that from memory, lol. yeah, conservatives were super racist to obama. he was also a war criminal, and didn't punish any of the war criminals before him, which helped pave the way for future war criminals to hold power. 

obama's actions led us directly to the trump admin we see today. if we want to avoid trump v2, we should avoid a repeat of obama. 

remember when obama gave tom homan an award for being awesome at deporting families during the obama admin? and now we have tom homan in the trump admin?

• refusing to enact any meaningful change wrt health insurance (obamacare was a stopgap to keep the insurance industry afloat, now we're stuck with ballooning costs thanks to those companies)
• refusing to punish any of the initial architects of the war on terror. remember the john yoo torture memos? 
• refusing to punish any banking execs for the 08 financial crisis.
• spreading terror across the middle east with drones. trump continued this. 
• deporting thousands of innocent people, like trump. giving an award to tom homan for his ability to deport people. obama is literally the reason we have tom homan in the trump admin now. 
• refusing to close guantanamo bay, which trump is now using as a jail for migrants. 

I guess you just remember obama's suits though
