Honestly...no. I've done two separate couch co-op blue prince runs with people experiencing the game for the first time and at the point in the game that they first find each Alzhara video (and with me knowing the full context of every mystery/puzzle in the game), I find the visions to be wildly unhelpful.
And by the time you unlock the ability to replay the videos, you're long past having needed them.
I actually think Alzhara was a bit of a whiff.

Woah. I completely missed that card. My drafters will not let me cut [[Yavimaya Elder]] for some reason. I think this would finally do the trick.

Wasn't going to post this until someone pointed out that if you hit fetchlands you get to keep them. As someone who just put the entire Landscape cycle in my cube, and given the general design movement away from playing lands from the top of your library and toward playing lands from the graveyard, I'm at least vaguely intrigued about what Riker could do in the right environment.

We just got a turn faster Solemn in Reality Fracture.
We did? What card are you referring to?

HEY! You NEED that police report. Your insurance won’t even begin the process of denying your claim until you’ve given them a police report.

These do not spark joy. But I appreciate “Esperate measures” as a title.

Everyone's dunking on the art when they should be dunking on a 3-mana do-nothing saga.

Well we know Data plays poker... I suppose it stands to reason he'd enjoy a [[Wheel of Fortune]] as well.

Sandman also has a really stupid striped t-shirt. Can't discount that.

Seems like a mandatory card for discard. Even if you aren't playing it today, you might in the future and you'll need her.

I interpreted it as referencing a life well lived which juxtaposes with his eventual fate.

I have three powered lists that I regularly look to for inspiration. I just finished a project cross-referencing all the cards that appeared in at least 2 of the other cubes and weren't in mine, and also flagging all the cards in my cube that aren't in any of the 3. It was instructive to see where we differed and it helped illustrate different design philosophies of their cube vs my cube (which I'm also an enormous fan of - especially if you like 5-player magic).

I think there's a big gulf between Field of the Dead being all-or-nothing (and an absolute trap card all the time) and Pike here being a random 4/4 on turn 4 without too much effort.
That said, is a random 4/4 for 1GG better than Augur of Autum's coven ability? Is it better than Courser's lifegain and guarantee 4 toughness? Maybe, but it puts us in boring sidegrade territory and that assumes you still run the dudes that can play lands off the top of your library.
I'm trying to avoid adding boring sidegrades to the cube and I cut the "top of the library" package last year, so it's probably a miss for me. The fact that I'm a sucker for Trek stuff at least gives it a chance as a novelty.

Yeah, Trek is my jam. Captain Pike was the captain of the Enterprise before Kirk took over. His series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is generally considered the best of the new Paramount+ trek series (except for the animated Lower Decks which rules).
He's basically Captain America. Just a good, charismatic dude trying to make the galaxy a better place.

Anyone interested in another [[Courser of Kruphix]] / [[Augur of Autumn]] sidegrade?

In the grim darkness of the far future there is NO SMILING!!!
great job!

Great looter. I will swap out one of my other 2cmc looters for this. Blue needs more early board presence in my cube too.
guyincorporated
It’s a fan favorite in my cube. Extremely high variability (obviously) from game to game but some nights you just really don’t want to think too hard so you draft lands and gold spells and see what happens. It’s great as a one-off inclusion.

What’s your methodology? I’d love to not have the most egregious UB cards.

Yeah, free stuff is great, but also playing Team Clash and Grand Arena literally just feel like a job. Grand Arena is especially egregious. Turn 1 pass, turn 2 play your scheme. Turn 3 play your face card. Turn 4 the game actually starts. Coolcoolcool.
My time has value and I don't need a PMV badly enough to play with the skinner box for 4 hours.
