I enjoyed it. The man answers questions the way Stephen King writes books. Lots of tangents gone down. The ADHD diagnosis is real.

He implied that Seraphina was a hat death. He mentioned a hat death involving a 'bad character' but im unclear if this is in Red God or a hat death that has already happened - if it is in Red God, my guess is Apple.

What are the other things you suggest for hiding 2 legions of memory-altered space marines in circumstances that also explains why RG & RD would also need their memories altered?

You're putting way too high a bar on what 'implied' means here. It clearly does imply they were folded into the Ultramarines and the Imperial Fists, it just doesn't confirm it or outright state it.

Malcador slowly moved back, out of the ornate sword's killing arc. 'The… loss of the Second and the Eleventh was such a wound upon us, and it threatened the ideals at the heart of the Great Crusade. It would have ruined all that we had built in the drive to reunite humanity, and drive off our enemies. Steps had to be taken.' He met Dorn's hard gaze. 'The legionaries they left behind, leaderless and forsaken, were too great a resource to be discarded out of hand. They did not share the fate of their fathers. You and Roboute argued in their favour, but you do not recall it.' Malcador nodded to himself. 'It fell to me to see that they were attuned to new circumstances.'

'You robbed them of their memories.'

'I granted them a mercy!' Malcador replied, his tone wounded. 'A second chance!'

'What mercy is there in a lie?' Dorn thundered.

'Ask yourself!' The Sigillite aimed the burning head of his staff in the primarch's direction. 'You wish to know the truth, Rogal? It is this - what I shrouded in you was done by your command! You told me to do it. You and Roboute conceived of the scheme and granted me permission!'

Dorn's scowl deepened. 'I would never countenance such a thing.'

'Untrue!' Malcador slammed the base of his staff into the floor, the crash of the metal punctuating the word. 'Such was the fate of the lost, that you willingly allowed it. To make safe that knowledge.'

What is your reading of this? It's stated that RG & RD made a scheme which involved wiping the memories of the legionaires from the lost legions (and their own memories) to avoid having to simply destroy them.

In the First Heretic yes but theres also a short story called The Chamber at the End of Memory. Here is an excerpt - https://www.reddit.com/r/40kLore/s/TKSMbVAChi

The fact that Callidus Assasssins use C'tan Phase Swords never really made sense to me.

The lost primarchs sided with aliens over the Imperium.

There is however some lore on the marines who followed them. It is heavily implied the Ultramarines and the Imperial Fists assimilated the survivors from the lost legions. The Soul Drinkers are almost explicitly stated to be successors from a lost legion instead of the Imperial Fists. Given what we know about the Soul Drinkers - that may give some clues to the disposition of one of the lost primarchs.

It is also a popular fan theory that Sigismund was from one of the lost legions (possible an overinterpretation of Angry Dorn telling Sigismund that he is no son of his).

Disintegrate them. You need some part of the body left to do the ritual that revives them.

I'm not sure what you mean - it is just a fact (insofar as you get facts in fiction) that they were swapped. I'm not sure what the out-of-universe justification is - probably someone just wanted to make it more convoluted as that fits the characters.

Omegon was the original Alpharius, he was found early on but stayed hidden. He later met Omegon, and they swapped names. Original Omegon took over the legion and went by Alpharius. Original Alpharius became the head of their 'even more special operations' units like sleeper agents and assassination teams. Original Omegon sided with Horus (in a bid to make Chaos win) and original Alpharius secretly stayed loyal but had less influence in the legion. Original Omegon is killed by Dorn. Original Alpharius is supposedly killed by Guilliman during the scouring but it is doubted enough that is is likely that Original Alpharius (going by the name Omegon) is likely alive.
