Another way to look at this: Washington state and its citizens protects the rights of people to vote. You should vote.

There is over one week left to do so. Regardless of the orange shenanigans some fuckwits play, your vote matters, and will continue to matter up until Election Day.

So, vote! But don't fall prey to nilism, and if you distrust the federal postal service use a drop box.

Looks like bedrock is near the surface

AI writing tends to be grating and obnoxious. Readers can smell it. Listen to the feedback from your thin audience or don't: it's up to you.

"Helps with my MH" ... whats that?... get back to basics. Don't use unintroduced acronyms.

It's easier to learn grammar if you practice and attempt to revise your own drafts.

That shape is funky! Thanks for sharing

hatchetation

Jeez. Any mods around to ban this fuck?

Sounds like you have a good handle on this, I like having a strong central leader without low forking.

I would leave red, at least for now. If it gets too big, you can deal with it later. (It's pretty easy to accidentally strip the bottom and remove interesting features. )

Purple is big though. Wouldn't remove it all in one go. Consider shortening back everything on it, and keeping a close eye on it in spring. It will probably try and leap again. You can pinch or do other frequent prunings to keep it small. Next year, take another look and maybe take it off entirely.

Might be a decent opportunity to try air layering if you're feeling experimental

That other small crossing limb should def go

It's synced on TikTok though. The screen capping is causing the audio delay. If you scraped it or downloaded directly from TikTok , the delay wouldn't be there

Hey mods, can we get this vapid slop under control? You're killing us here

hatchetation

Delete your account and go touch grass

I agree. It's one thing to leave temporary juvenile branches on to help the tree bolster, but I wouldn't wait to subordinate one of the leaders.

hatchetation

There would be a lot less confusion if it was called "the place where the trunk gets big all of a sudden" instead of "root flare."

A lot of people don't realize the flare is part of the trunk, not the root system

A symptom is a subjective feeling experienced that may indicate an underlying disease or condition.

As a bucket, I truly hope you get the rest you need, and can return to service soon.

Why do you hide r/Finops from your profile? Makes you look like PointFive shill.

hatchetation

Yup. This is just aesthetics.

Washington, California, Oregon ... many states do things differently.

Here is a good rundown on the situation in Washington:

"in the absence of a governing statute or a reservation in the grant, the owner of the land on each side of the street owns the fee to the center of the street, subject only to the easement in the public.” The court further noted that “We have uniformly held that a city acquires only an easement in a street in consequence of a dedication.”

Since Burmeister v. Howard, 1 Wash. Terr. 207 (1867), this court has not departed from the rule established in that case, that the fee in a public street or highway remains in the owner of the abutting land, and the public acquires only the right of passage, with powers and privileges necessarily implied in the grant of the easement.

There are a lot of misconceptions about using rock mulch over tree roots, many aren't well-grounded in any peer-reviewed literature or research.

hatchetation

Geez bro, learn to leave the em dashes behind. Makes you read like an AI bot that drank too much caffeine somehow

> That's NOT what that sentence even says, and I'm done arguing this point with you; read it again:

... we haven't discussed this point yet though? What argument? I read that statement as saying, "If a root is between 0-2.54cm below the surface of the root ball it's OK. If a root is > 2.54cm below the surface, it's too deep."

You interpret that statement differently?

hatchetation

You're planting in a very hot part of the year, and leaving the whole root flare exposed.

You need to put the root collar at ground level, not leave the root flair above ground.

This is the downside of all the root flair pornographics people mob over online. Trees don't grow like this naturally, and you're setting this oak up for a much harder time establishing roots by doing so.
