Thanks everyone for the replies. I just checked that Spotify playlist and it wasn't on there. I'll have to try to get it on my phone's music recognition app.

I was thinking of going back to this work in the UK. This discussion has reminded me why not to!

People also sniff when they are intimidated by you, physically or emotionally. 90% of strangers sniff at me and it is so bloody annoying. I have mild ptsd whenever someone does it because I associate the short, sharp intake of breath as aggresive.

Don't get a scooter! I drive here all day for work and the amount of near misses is atrocious. Stick to a car much safer.

That religion that doesn't use technology... You know the one? They raise a barn in 24 hours. Yeah all the materials preperation that goes into it as well. Imagine how much they get done in a year.

How have I never made this connection?!?

I've been driving here aa courier for 4 months and I can tell you, the Maltese drivers are retards.

Interesting to hear things are cheaper here. All my experience has been food is quite a bit more expensive than in the UK. The taste of local/Italian grown items is way better than the UK counterparts though.

Lol yes! I'm not sure if it's supposed to signal a softer side but to me it just looks like the worst possible thing they could do to their hair.

Brits use the word knickers. It might have had a sexual connotation in generations past but nowadays it seems pretty innocent.

Like how are you going to dirty talk with someone without sounding like Roald Dahl.

First ever cooking lesson in primary school. I made an apple and bacon sandwich, with ketchup. For some reason it was like jesus had returned in the form of a sandwich.

Chimp groups cannibalise their tyrannical leaders. Mmmmm, man-flesh (said in Uruk Hai).

My understanding of this is that the neighbours don't give a damn at all about the chairs, but will respond to power dynamics. If that's the case god damn is that depressing.

Lol I had an argument with a bus driver because I tried to pay in some assortment of 50s, 10s and 5s. I was the only one getting on the bus and it was late at night, the last bus of the day. He flat out refused to take it until I begged him as I had no other way of getting back to my place. He was like, "next time I see you I won't pick you up."

The Maltese are generally a very warm and welcoming people but you do get some cranky ass bus drivers. I spose it might be because they have to deal wihh Maltese drivers all day.

I think it depends on this corporate tax agreement being discussed at the international level. Without the benefit of being a tax haven the biggest sector Malta has its tourism. I don't know if that's true or not as I'm native English and haven't been in the country more than a few years. It seems by going in the direction of business and immigration, causing a lot of traffic and construction, Malta is shooting itself in the foot in regards to tourism. There was an article about it on one of the news sites here, high wealth tourists are choosing not to come here because of the aforementioned.

The tax legislation being talked about is a step in the right direction though, cause the world is getting more and more unfair. Its easy to see here in Malta, so many bmws and mercedes driving around badly like assholes, whilst Maltese young people I've talked to in low wage jobs are doubling the occupancy of apartments with a group of friends so they can save money.

Was thinking the same thing. Maybe there's a high rate of home ownership. I'm jealous that people who owned houses here before the housing market went to the moon profited so much while I don't own a brick :(

Is this the EU company tax reform coming about? I was wondering what Malta is going to do when that hits.
