I also listened to securitynow last night.

It's worth about the same effort the creator put in. it's an empty box with 3 bowsers in it and a long timer. There is no arena and it offers nothing, no interesting interactions, it's dodge 3 bowsers for 8 minutes. And the timer is pointlessly tight, and so after waiting 8 minutes you must effectively kill all 3 bowsers very quickly while dashing to the doors without mistake, and if one of the bowsers has moved too far away or dodges, now you must do it again. Negative criticism is still constructive, and no one in the comments has really been rude. It is objectively awful, unfun, it's true that essentially no one wants to play this and that it would be hell and painful to play. Even from the perspective of "some people like terrible and bad levels" this could be better even at that. Nothing about it is in any way clever. It's not necessary or beneficial to jump to someone's defense when the criticism is correct.

But I'd love for you to play it to completion and discuss your experiences and how the criticism is wrong, if it does look good and fun to you. It looks like it has no clears yet, so you can be the first one!

Looks extremely unfun.

You asking chatgpt to reply to me isn't actually a helpful way to respond, and being too lazy to even ask it to format it as a reddit post that sounds human written is absurdly telling. You also didn't take the time to answer all the questions, which is absurdly lazy when you are asking a machine to do it for you. A machine you can literally link to the post and ask it how to reply. Are you doing all of this from your phone for some reason?

You also clearly have no capacity to control your desire to argue in the comments, which, again, is an extremely poor use of your time. I'd strongly recommend you cease work on this project entirely and seek therapy. From a human.

You should not be playing with the toys you are playing with, you are going to get hurt.

it's technically possible you are a dipshit. as in there was some shit, and you were dipped into it. you might not know. You may have only stepped on it slightly, but that's enough shit dipping to technically be by all definitions, a dipshit, dipped in shit. check your shoes

hotfistdotcom

what's the level code? Is this your level?

hotfistdotcom

got 10 years of experience as a sysadmin and cannot get a fucking interview in months. time for some BS certificates I guess

hotfistdotcom

!remindme 5 years so how'd the divorce go? Was this a factor or did you later do something worse?

hotfistdotcom

yikes. in that case anonymous complaint+victim was a minor. they'd almost certainly follow up at least, and maybe scare the hell out of him if he isn't some copsucking cuck who buddies up to the pigs. Even if your locale doesn't have an anonymous tipline your county or state probably does. it still relies on humans, and even worse than humans, cop humans but cunts like that should pay a price

hotfistdotcom

what in the hell are these strange frames with some tiktok overlay on them?

The twitter account it's advertising doesn't even exist, it does exist elsewhere but it's literally all AI slop. This appears to be a content theft engine experimenting with evading detection. I wish subs like this would demand raw video, no framed videos or videos with unaffiliated user/account/brand advertisements stapled to them

I have been looking for a job for over a year. I've applied to over 4000 positions, I work with 2 recruiters who've found me placement in the past, I have 12 years of experience as a sysadmin and 15 in IT overall.

Most weeks there are no jobs within 100 miles, and I'm in a large city of 100k+ residents in central WI. I apply for a lot of remote roles, unglamorous roles like IAM and generalist stuff, email/exchange/365 management.

I had linkedin premium for a month and local-ish roles get flooded out by people with significantly more education than I have, hundreds of applicants in the first couple days and there is just no way for me to stand out.

I've even done some local canvassing of places and physically put my resume in the hands of IT managers and HR staff.

I've reworked my resume a dozen times myself, with AI, and I've paid a company to do it that folks I know have used with great success.

Haven't had an interview in 3 or 4 months.

I want to work but it's been really depressing and hard to deal with. I have a small side gig as a 1099 for reviews through amazon's vine program. After six months i can sell the crap I get sent so I've been focusing on higher value and resellable stuff which helps offset how rapidly I'm maxing out credit cards just surviving and buying essentially nothing. But food costs are crazy, and i cook all my food at home and avoid going out to eat because I'm cheap.

I got diagnosed with diabetes in the middle of all this which added a lot on top of that.

I'm thinking about just flat out offering bribes - finding the hiring managers phone number on one of those websites and offering my first two paychecks if they hire me on.

I hope the bubble bursts soon.

hotfistdotcom

you literally couldn't even be bothered to actually describe the project yourself, and had AI do that too, and you didn't even read it through to see if you provided a link to it?

What purpose does your meat even serve other than to copy and paste what the AI conjured up for you, that you may not have even tested?

hotfistdotcom

you don't ever need to install the app. you can use the website, on your phone, with an adblocker, providing much less information and value to elon if you must use it.

hotfistdotcom

How are the security risks low, exactly? Is your assertion that you believe you can trust 100% of everything claude does, and everyone can 100% trust everything you've done? And you can be absolutely certain that none of the code is intentionally or unintentionally malicious, because you've thoroughly audited all of it line by line?

How are you expecting a 30% performance boost? What specifically are you expecting to optimize in a way that results in a 30% boost, or where does that figure come from? How do you not know what the boost is over emulators at least on your personal machine at this time?

What is your background in sw engineering/developing? Could you outline how you differentiate vibe coding from AI asssisted coding? Can you explain why you set up a brand new github account for this project? Could you go over or link some of your non-AI coded portfolio projects or discuss personal projects you've taken from idea to completed without AI assistance?

John stewart interviewed the openAI whistleblower a couple weeks back and it's worth a watch

tldw is that this dude's peers full on believes that if capitalism is allowed to accelerate to the end, actually socialism and communism simulataneously big bang into existence like jesuswizard magic and everyone is happy in a perfect utopia but it's still capitalism's ultimate success but no one is unhappy.

The whistleblower also believes this is true and will happen as long as we just do AI exactly right.

I guess what is really funny is the guys near the top go into the meat grinder, too. People smart enough to stop the folks in control are very, very dangerous. so at least he'll probably die eating snakeoil dogfood he really, really believed was the cure and we'll probably get to see it if the internet still works since flock will be recording every inch of the earth

hotfistdotcom

In some cases they do run better, in a lot of cases they still leverage an emulator for GPU render or are just a wrapper for an emulator. Additionally the person producing them is unlikely to be capable or desire to do any QA or QC of any kind, it doesn't respect the licenses of the code or projects they draw from and in roughly 100% of cases the project will have absolutely zero concern for security or risk to end users downloading it. It's essentially a my first Vbasic app being published for the public with no scrutiny and almost no capacity to address any issues that come up other than by saying "claude users are saying this is a problem can you fix it" and if it comes back with actually that's not a problem, they just copy paste that shit and then block you.

It's invading nearly every retro and emulation community, and no matter how nuanced your stance is on AI (and in general it's very helpful for devs/sw eng folks) the idea that novices with no experience can produce functional-ish personal projects is annoying and invalidating for folks who can do the work, and while it's not immediately clear why this will be a problem the lack of long term support for these projects, difficulty in building on top of them, as well as again, licensing issues and making folks no longer want to open source or contribute for fear of theft by AI will have long reaching implications. And none of that even really scratches the surface on the security concerns we could see with these projects, but there is some local LLM focused information going into that here and here. but the tldr is that we are already seeing some really, really weird stuff in how these tools are being used to harm and exploit others, and I can't imagine it will be long before larger corpo interests recognize either some value to poisoning their own blackboxes for some specific profit purpose, backdoor, or something else evil intended to only harm specific people, or enemies of the state, or similar that will end up harming many others on the way.

So there are very good reasons to be concerned. At the very least these projects should always disclose AI usage, and ideally the developer wouldn't spin up a brand new github specifically for this project, but would have an established account that at least shows some development work and contributions before 2024ish that aren't ai-centric.

In the case of this project, there is no way on earth I would touch this on any of my PCs or outside a sandbox at all and I would strongly recommend others be very careful with new tools such as these, as well.

eta; after more thought, I also feel like projects like this could turn nintendo's sights more clearly on both important contributors like TGR and similar if derivative works are created that end up pissing off nintendo, or as a project like this incorporates OCW or similar, could end up getting them mad that way. Although that feels like an almost slippery slope style argument I would also want to know with absolute certainty that projects like this are covering the bases from a legal perspective at least from what is generally expected to be acceptable/difficult to procecute, as well as making absolutely certain they have permission and are license compliant with contributions from others.

I wonder if we'll start seeing no derivative licenses, or noAI licenses start to pop up more and more as these projects leverage the work of others in this way.

hotfistdotcom

Wow, capslock? Namecalling? That's super rude. Maybe you should hop off your high horse and laugh once in a while, it won't hurt you!

hotfistdotcom

Oh I absolutely don't think it's funny. but you don't seem to see why some people might think sexual assault isn't funny and why it might be a little pathetic and a little disgusting to tell people what isn't and is not funny.

hotfistdotcom

Haha, yeah, you right, clown_shoes_mcgee! Hey just a quick fun laugh, your profile isn't actually private! haha! check it out: https://www.google.com/search?q=bimmer123+site:reddit.com

See, anyone can see anything you post! Isn't that funny! Gosh, it sure would be bad if someone thought it would be funny if say, someone correlated all this easily findable public information with your reviewer program memberships and was able to report potentially bad behavior! haha, that'd be such a mean joke, though. but I should stay off my high horse and learn to laugh!

Oh hey, how come this one wasn't funny?

Your posts on truerateme were definitely a big lul though, thanks for that!

Privacy is a joke, right?

hotfistdotcom

Jokes are supposed to be funny. this one isn't. You don't think it is, either. You're just a contrarian and can't help yourself. You should head back to facebook

hotfistdotcom

Oh yeah, those look destroyed. 64gb too! Goddamn. Here, let me just throw those out for you, I insist.

hotfistdotcom

I made a joke about a mario maker course lacking indicators and had several people dox me and attempt to inform my employer I had an 0F to get me fired. and this was pre-melon husk twatter god only knows what it's like now
