Yeah like what does OP mean he and his family are "struggling" because they're all fair? My mom is blonde with brown eyes, my dad is dirty blonde with blue eyes, my brother is blonde with blue eyes, and I'm the only person in our family with brown eyes and brown hair. My brother used to tell me I was the family dog. 😐 Please don't let your husband and his family treat your daughter differently over something so stupid.

So relatable. Was casually cleaning one purse while switching bags and noticed a solid perfume my high school boyfriend gave me 10 years ago. I've kept this perfume on me for so long because I love it so much, but I had to laugh when I realized how old it is.

I love the smell and am still hunting for a dupe because it's discontinued. That's why I haven't used it all up yet. It doesn't take up too much space either. But I realized yesterday that 10 years is long enough. It doesn't serve the same purpose in my life anymore.

Reading this helped me a lot. The core issue isn't knowing how to say it, cause I can be a righteous spitfire. It's believing that I have the same rights, autonomy, and personhood as other people. And if I do something that crosses ANOTHER person's boundaries, they can speak up and let me know!

I relate to this so much! At 26 I entered a new professional field and couldn't quite figure out why my supervisors were treating me a certain way. They were so gentle with me, laughed with delight at my ideas, and were very forgiving with my mistakes.

I started to resent them and wondered why they were treating me like a child. I told them that I was ready to take off the training wheels and I wanted more honest feedback from them.

I regret that now. I am a bubbly, optimistic person through and through, and the first impression I usually give is "ditzy," even though I'm highly intelligent.

I realize now that I am just actually ditzy, and I was naive to all the serious issues my supervisors were handling behind the scenes. They were protecting me from the realities of our industry because I AM soft.

One of my supervisors has left our team and I've taken her place in the interim, and I now realize what it means to be jaded, and why they wanted to protect me. My optimism was improving team morale, helping with sales, and helping myself and everyone stay motivated.

Basically, you're awesome, and your youthful confidence and outlook on life was a virtue to be treasured. Don't be so hard on yourself!

Totally. I don't believe in ghosts. I live in an older apartment community (40 yrs) and there's no telling what all has happened in my home before my arrival. There's probably been 20 residents before me at minimum.

That faint dead leaf smell that creeps into late September mornings. As a kid I used to think the smell was people starting to use their fireplaces, but it makes sense that burning wood could have a similar smell to leaves getting ready to fall. Almost no one in the American south would be using fireplaces in September, so could also be the smell of just burning yardpiles. I also remember when I learned why it's called Fall -- leaves falling!!! ❤️🧡💛
