Welcome to Linux mate. Enjoy your freedom and don’t be scared of asking questions. We were all there once.

Gday cobber. Veteran Linux user here mate. I’ve used them all and Zorin by far is brilliant. You can boot it with the Nvidia driver enabled straight from the USB. It’s not a ram hog like windows and if you set your swappiness to 10 from 60 it will use 90 percent of your ram before swapping to disk which will keep it running excellent. As for keeping your drive good just enable the fstrim.timer and you don’t have to worry about a thing. Open the terminal and do a sudo systemctl enable fstrim.timer

I had a look on the winedb and it doesn’t run

I would install windows 10 vm in virtualbox and run it on that. I use a windows 10 vm to run my Adobe software and it runs great

Gnome version. Might file a bug report as well.

I tried changing to dejavu serif but it’s not the best at all. I’ll install the copr repo and see how I go with that

iWebifyMedia

Thanks very much mate much appreciated

iWebifyMedia

Thanks mate. I've installed gnome tweaks. I'll try the Firefox settings you mentioned and see how that goes.

Welcome to the Linux community mate. Nice setup.

iWebifyMedia

How is it connected mate. USB? And what type is it

All you people defending Windows is a joke. At least we haven’t got the NSA looking at everything we do and when was the last time Windows had a smooth update? I’d rather install Steam, Proton and Lutris than game on windows because no matter what way you look at it. You can’t polish a turd.

Make sure the drive isn’t mounted and open up the terminal and do a sudo fsck-p /dev/sdX (your partition) if you don’t know what the partition is do a lsblk and it will tell you there

iWebifyMedia

What is the drive formatted in?

iWebifyMedia

Open up system setting and click on font selection. Change the text scaling and hinting to see what looks better for you

iWebifyMedia

Hey mate try changing you font dpi settings and see how that goes

Installed it today using a custom btrfs install. The beta is working brilliantly. Haven't had one glitch and I've been testing it flatout.

This version will put Mint back on the top of Distrowatch, Not that that matters anyway but hats off to Clem and the dev team for a exceptional piece of work.

iWebifyMedia

yes it does. You can set it per screen which is brilliant

Hi there Pop Os and Ubuntu have problems with QT based apps but there is fix. Install qt5-style-plugins Then in your home directory nano .profile and scroll to the bottom and put QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=gtk2 Then save the file and reboot. That should fix all your problems with your qt apps opening and closing.

Install ebtables mate that will fix your network issues. And install ovmf if you want to install vms with uefi. Then nano /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf and scroll down and unhash user and put your username instead of root and also do the same for group as well and save the file. Then sudo service restart libvirtd or reboot and you should be good to go

iWebifyMedia

Its a really good review. But I can understand his argument about no zfs option in the installer and no btrfs subvolumes when installing with that either.

If System76 can fix that then its a total winner.

Thanks mate. Sounds like you went tumbleweed. That’s my most favourite of Kde distros. But it doesn’t have NVEC support with OBS
