Well, this is interesting. I have a whole collection of them. Maybe they will take them.

igmrlm

I'd be willing to bet that the person who made this poster did not actually watch the mayoral debate hosted by Arts Ottawa

YES VERY TOXIC!! like aeroslied metals (cobalt, lithium, etc) and carbon MONOXIDE
Never try to put out a lithium fire without training and a fully enclosed positive pressure breathing apparatus

igmrlm

I've actually been accused of working for them before... I wonder.. Haha.

igmrlm

I have a rather scary large amount of old lithium batteries in an old gas barbecue in my yard.. I'm not sure what to do with them. It's not like I can take a bus to carp with all of these.

I agree. A pole with a loop on the end was insufficient in this example and I kept thinking that it would have been great if we had a net or a really big blanket or something.

igmrlm

No, I tried.

+_+ Carbon monoxide

Yes, the admins there are way faster than the ones here because I assume they have way less things to sort through.

They had the lost notification posted within minutes reddit took an hour for the admin to approve because I'm on the naughty list.

(If you're wondering why it's because I had a lapse in judgment about four years ago and posted a picture of somebody putting their feet on the seat on the train that included their face not being sensitive to what they might be going through in life and their privacy and libel and other issues that I might not understand even now.)

He was not in any way aggressive. He was very skittish and Being what I assume to be a great Dane and Border Collie mix could trot really fast. So no matter what we tried, we couldn't corner him because he would run circles around us, and i had a bicycle.

I realized that he might be a little more trusting if I sat down and was less aggressive so I did that and managed to get him to take a treat from my hand before he bolted away and I couldn't find him again.

Fortunately, somebody else managed to corner him according to the police and put a leash on him and they brought him home a few minutes ago. I didn't know but it turns out he's one of my neighbors. Very close by.

igmrlm

I tried bacon and liver. I managed to get him take one liver treat from my hand before he bolted. What would you have tried?

By the way, He's home safe now. I didn't know but he was one of my neighbors and the police brought him home after I chased him for 15 kilometers and lost him.

igmrlm

That sounds like the best cheat code 🤣 I have a few good friends in the low-sight community but I would not have thought of that. The dog was brought home by the police and is safe now.

igmrlm

I don't really know what else to say other than thank you. 💜💜💜.

igmrlm

Oh, that's a great idea, and I wish I had thought of that. The puppy is home and safe.

igmrlm

I'll add that to my list of tricks next time. Haha.

Update!!!!!!!!!

I didn't realize but this dog is actually one of my neighbors who I've never met before.

Two police crusiers just pulled up and had him with them and brought him home.

The dog is safe and home again 🥹

As someone who survived rescuing a person who got 27 stitches in a pitbull attack, I felt confident that I could deal with Great Dane / border collie mix.

I got three stitches from a few puncture wounds, but the cop said I saved the guy's life.

Bylaw and I both tried to catch him for a while. He trusted me a lot more than the Bylaw officer and eventually took a treat from my hand. But then he ran off and the Bylaw gave up (it had been close to 2 hours, he had other calls)

I searched around the neighborhood for a while and couldn't find him and eventually had to give up myself. So yeah, I'm pretty sad about the outcome. But I've put his pictures here on Reddit and on the Ottawa Valley Lost Pet Network and everywhere else I could think of and I'm hoping that his owner eventually hears about this.

Google Fit says it was over 13 kilometers and that was after I started tracking about 30 minutes in.

I never saw this dog sit or lie down once the entire time.
