Make a bootable mavericks USB drive. (Google it) from there, restart the computer while holding the 'alt' key. Select the USB. Use disk utility to format the drive. Then install there. Obviously, back up before doing this.

Thank you for your input! One of the only draws I have to iOS 7 is the ability to change settings by swiping from the bottom. (much like android already has). I too am nerdy, meaning any small detail I may dislike (and can't change) can ruin it for me. I'll also be missing out on the easy compatibility of iMessage, iPhoto, and iCal to my Mac.

My only issue with that is out here, I don't get any cellular data (awful signal), so I depend heavily on WiFi. Any reason you don't use the stock messaging app often?

I don't have to plug in to update iOS.

Mac user here, I have to force quit it about half the time, and every single time i quit it, even appropriately, i get the message 'steam has quit unexpectedly'. sometimes shift-tab works to pull up steam in game, sometimes it doesn't.
