"This time we've got her for sure."

I sure see a lot of poodle, in there! 75/25 or 50/50?
irving47
Darn you now i'm all hungry
irving47
Yeah that's what I finally connected in my little brain. Federal emergency declaration vs. state.
irving47
I couldn't remember for sure which ones got FEDERAL/actual FEMA help. My family didn't need it at the time, so I didn't make special note the differences between federal and state declarations of emergency. Sorry.

Yeah, I'm not exactly Mr. Silver Lining, but not being absolutely drenched with sweat and miserable all day while cleaning up was real nice.

I THINK I heard on the radio they were predicting safe enough to start around 3am, unless I misinterpreted it. Which is entirely possible.

Rookie mistake. Turn left between the gas station and Sam's to get to Langley.
irving47
Yes. This alarmed me. If comets are harbingers of death, sunsets are the bringer of major roof damage.
irving47
Don't those cost tens of thousands to even get started in that process? I've heard numbers like $40-50k to get the feds to do the background check for you. (If you've never had one. Much less to renew/reactivate)?

"Lookin' good!"

First thing I ever saw that had people storming the toy stores. Shortly before the Cabbage Patch craze.
"You can try and stop 'em!"

The usage of this gif is inspired. A mere upvote is insufficient expression of appreciation.

"Forbidden"
Couldn't really watch TV during the week anyway, so on the weekends it was Star Trek and movies, anyway... I didn't even bother with "Nick Rocks"

Yeah, the government/TSA in the US was ready to allow the small ones again. The flight attendants unions had a fucking fit. Judging by some of the videos I run across on X (the ones NOT shot in old planes as sets for tiktok, anyway) make me think it may have been wise.

One of the airports or states was taking theirs and selling them in enormous lots on ebay. I came close a couple times. A few hundred bucks for ~50 knives of varying, interesting designs with cool company logos, especially on the smaller ones.
irving47
I could see them being available in other countries... because in the US the TSA/government was ready to allow us the small keychain knives again. It was the (US-based) unions for the STEWARDESSES (yeah. i said it. go ahead.) that nuked it.
irving47
Right there with ya... T-spins are a rarity for me just because i will never leave a gap overhung like that unless it's a screw-up/no-other-choice scenario.
however... I need to improve my game a bit because I don't do any weird controller multi-tap stuff
irving47
Oh nooooo. I've been out of the loop, but that. aint. good.
RIP Cox.
Cox customers: Run.

Depending on the store/employee, you probably made someone's day. A lot of guys go around and check every piece of tableware they can get their hands on for the marks indicating silver grades. Plated/solid and pattern type. ie-"Buttercup" is a particular brand/pattern that's all or mostly silver instead of just plated.

I looked into this last couple weeks. I had no idea the fee was so high. Apparently refining sterling to pure silver is costly in terms of energy/time and even acids to chemically process out the copper, etc.

I won't be happy about the Aphra characters being used until they put in 000 and BT-01. I know the guy that built the first full-size, IRL BT-01 and several others have followed. It is a badass. "Blast-o-mech" because screw your hyperspace coordinates!
Be prepared for an outage of some sort. The contractor they used for my neighborhood killed my AT&T fiber and knocked out my neighbor's water/sewer service. Big ol' rectangle had to be cut out of their driveway. The phrase to remember is "donde esta el jefe"
That said, I switched to t-mo fiber for the price difference. I'd call the service on par with AT&T fiber. Excellent.
