So let's say you have depression because your brain is under producing dopamine, you take meds to make it produce more.

Over time your body will realise its being forced to produce more so it will compensate by reducing base production.

Now your issue is way worse and you need more meds, and if you ever stop taking them you are fucked.

The issue with nuclear is that either you build one that's the same tech as the 60s but you actually can buy parts or make a modern one but have to make bespoke parts, the relatively limited public research combined with non-existent supply chain hurts nuclear's deploy cost.

The main issue isn't regulations themselves but the very limited funding.

If more reactors were being built and research was being funded the cost to build one would still drop even with more regulations due to supply.
