And cats are pointless.

The lawyer was recording case notes and left the recorder on when the helicopter was piping music from its speakers.

I waffle between these, the one I quoted was succinct but you chose the best for the OP. And OP I feel ya! Right there with you in life.

It's my favorite Lassie quote! I should have put quote marks lol. (I've edited them in)

"You gotta grow up. People have sex and they kill each other. That's the real world, not some magical feelings place."

As another commenter mentioned, the main hinge point is Roderick Glossop, who comes up several times in each.

You'll feel the shift if you do constant rewatches. A lot of the comfort is the flashbacks and being at his dad's house and the formulaic nature of the early seasons. The show changes later but it's for the best since it keeps it from getting stale - it can feel like watching two different shows once you know everything by heart, and I have grown to appreciate both.
jacksonarbiter
I too started noticing this several rewatches ago! It happens a lot with extras in most shows that I watch (most recently Monk and 30 Rock), these extras are just more noticeable.

Yeah 2D shadows are pretty limited, had to go to 3D myself. Looks great!

Here's a little bit about me beyond the job title:

I've never said anything about her before and now I sortof regret it. I try not to comment on people's appearance but I am sick of seeing all these women ruin their faces. I will take your word for it that she was nice and I'ma keep her name out of my mouth from now on.
jacksonarbiter
Yes the new lizard wife is a... choice.
jacksonarbiter
Maybe they fired her from godparent duty for not showing up! (p.s. Love your Reddit name)

Lived right behind the one on Magnolia in 2005 when my wife was pregnant. She'd get a craving and they'd fuck it up. Every time.

There was a shot of an in memoriam for him posted earlier. (I didn't downvote you, just wanted to mention it in case you missed it).

Glad to see a Cocktail Time mention. A month ago I'd just been through the entirety of the Blandings Castle books after reading the entirety of the Jeeves books a few years back, and they were sortof running together as you might expect.
Then I read Cocktail time. It is his best work. The constant excellence of the lines is just phenomenal.
jacksonarbiter
Shockolate!
jacksonarbiter
It is excellent but surprisingly hard to come across via any libraries (the Uncle Fred compendium I was using on archive.org randomly restricted access when I was 5 pages in), feel free to DM me if you need to know where to purchase it legitimately.
jacksonarbiter
Best line in the show, think about it every time I'm dealing with an imbalanced person.
jacksonarbiter
Looks like he was really asking, so that's on me.
jacksonarbiter
I think they were joking, but I appreciate you educating folks on one of the greatest games ever made.

Read this for the first time a month ago and laughed out loud.
It's interesting to read the stories when he was young and occasionally referenced WW1 and then later will barely reference WW2 but will allude to (especially in Cocktail Time, his best novel IMO) trying to prevent WW3.
jacksonarbiter
I don't get this reference, other than the fact it wouldn't make any sense. Please somebody put me out of my misery.
jacksonarbiter
Oh my God it's been well over 20 years since I read that book but I immediately got the reference.
I so wish they could have had Tim Curry in it, unfortunately he had his massive stroke a year before.
