Not an expert here but my understanding is that the valuation is based on the promise that AI will replace almost every job and basically the promise of AGI. If they achieve that, it's worth what they say it is, maybe even more.

The problem is no one knows if they will do it, so it isn't lack of proper auditing, it's AI companies selling a promise that may not be achievable

Isn't the solution then to regulate AI companies to stop making better models? In your scenario, having proprietary models with those capabilities just adds an extra step to the list (get hired to the company to get access to an environment where they can use the models without guardrails), but still lets it happen. Are you willing to take that risk?

He litterally talks about the copyrighted art and music in his first comment, answering to someone who said it would make the game free. I didn't read all your links on clean room, does it address those issues?

I don't know anything about the subject, but litteraly in the first 5 lines of your link, it says you still need a copy of the game, and it's also the first question in the FAQ.

Again, speaking as someone who doesn't know anything about this subject, the argument seemed to be you (i didn't go back to check if you were the one making the claim originally) saying that now the game can legally be played for free by everyone and someone else saying "um actually, no". And this link tends to prove you wrong, or at least to show that you and the other guy are arguing about different things.

Sure the US has been declining in the past years, but even in Europe people are struggling to afford food even though there is about 130kg of food wasted per person each year (googled food waste in Europe and took the first number that came up, feel free to do more research).

Even before AI, we've been producing more food than what would be needed to feed the entire world population. The problem is not the production of food, it's the logistics chain of transporting, storing and distributing it. And it doesn't seem to be that its not fesable but that the people that do have the power to do it don't want to.

Genuine follow up question on the "proofs are useless" part : some math problems seem to be about proving conjectures. What implications does having an answer on these kinds of things have for maths and other fields?

For instance, for P=NP, if an AI comes up and says "trust me bro, it's not true", what could happen? Or would you expect for this kind of result to be accepted that it provides a counter example and that would have greater value than just a yes/no?
