We should keep at it, no need to keep our heritage alive through dances all the areas of India does for Their unique identities.
Dances the Africans and Latinos do are different than ours, their culture is different than ours. And Dance in general means the way to express, not everything has to be Competition. This one might be out of sync because lots people didn't know how to play garba. but if you visit the Rural and one of the oldest forms of Garba, you'll see how that goes against any other Foreign dances you mentioned. Some have Garba Marathons, they play till only one left dancing.
Maybe before downgrading our own culture, you should do some research...
