Own it and bring your uniqueness to the table - it can pay off in amazing ways if you let it.

I mean hell, look at this Helen Keller game that just went viral (attached). Totally insensitive, but the numbers dont lie. You’re going to bring a perspective that others dont have, and that could be the secret sauce.

Yep we love using Ionic + Angular. Summon Worlds is an Ionic + Angular app (you can see it in the app store). IMO all the performance issues we had were issues we created and so were easily fixed when we did a better job of NGRX/loading data at the right times / caching / etc

Have you calculated out how your hosting costs are going to be for 1,000 users, 10k, etc? I've always been curious how MMO's scale and are supported hosting wise, and I know that they rely on subscriptions and purchases but for a free to play one my concern for you would be if it takes off what does your bill look like.

Gameplay wise this is freaking awesome and good work on making it! Also super cool to see it with Phaser, I love phaser for web & mobile

now this is 🆒

I’d suggest adding dialects and cultural differences even if the language is the same. Even simple things like southern states saying Ya’ll vs jersey saying Wudder. One of my favorite things about The Expanse was the belter slang, watch the series and you’ll know what i mean

yeah seriously this is great, way to keep going

there is typically a reason that they are no longer in power. You can lean into that and it becomes super reasonable, especially if their power was based on infrastructure.

For instance, assuming their ancient power was enhanced by infrastructure such as technological or magical towers, equipment, crystals, etc, if their society collapsed the ability to manufacture these things that gave them accelerated powers would no longer exist. So their power would be limited to however many of the artifacts/infrastructure is remaining. Its a self limiting factor that matches the real world (even in fantasy setting)

If no sprites, how was the graphics created?

jedihacks

love it - how long does it take to generate?

Hey Summoners, thanks for joining the live stream today! Had a great time and great seeing ya'll.

Now that V2 is out for Adventure Mode is in Beta, please test away (using new adventures) and have some fun. Let us know if anything seems out of the ordinary and we'll work to keep improving the experience.

If you have any bug reports, it would be helpful to include a screenshot of what the adventure chat was so we can see the text (although if its private no worries ) - but the more information we can get on what scenarios work and which ones don't, the faster we can fix any issues you discover.

Codex all the way for coding. I did a comparison between claude and codex last year (same prompts) and codex won 80% of the time. Now, since then would it still win? Idk, but I'm already set up on the infrastructure. 1 year is a life time in AI terms.

For using AI for role play & world building with Summon Worlds ( www.summonworlds.com ) we use a combination of combination of gpt-4o-mini, minimax-m3, qwen3p7-plus, claude-haiku-4-5. Each one does a different thing and we have to chain them together for the role playing generations because no single model does everything. Freaking annoying.

For instance, gpt-40-mini is great at structured stats but sucks at visual descriptions for characters and locations. For that we would use claude-haiku.

hmmm thats a good point u/Golfimbol - I'll add that to our notes for UI improvements to make it more clear.

Happy to help u/Specialist-West-5273 !

Yeah and to add to that if you want to add in app purchases and have never done it before, add even more time (its a pain in the ass).

Also there are a TON of rules and regulations about what you are even allowed to put up there. Look at apple developer guidelines and read it fully. They even have rules about screenshots.

It’s not just development - The app store is a whole process. Design, marketing, development, requirements… you might need to change core aspects of your app or business to even get approved.

Give yourself at *least* a month, best case scenario.

Thanks Andrea!
