Indie authors face the problem of not being able to afford the art for a cover because chances are that they will not make much on their first few books but they need some sort of image to help sell the book. I see it more as a bridge for getting started, and when you can afford to pay the artist, that is the better way to go.

Awesome! I saw the trailer for this just recently and was planning on featuring it as a Spotlight on Indie Creators post on AxiomsEdgeSciFi.com. I may be DMing you in the next few days for a little more info on the film.

And sadly, many corporations (including the entertainment industry) are using it to replace humans.
johnnyjay
Excellent example, and I definitely agree in this case. Just out of curiosity, are you willing to share the name of the film you are referring to?

Just a note that AI generated content is typically not well-received on this sub.

This one was actually decent. Typical BBC cheesiness, but it did a good job of adapting the novel which counts as a minor classic.

There were actually plans for a Man from Earth TV series with a successful crowdfunding campaign, but that eventually morphed into the sequel film Man from Earth: Holocene (which was decent, but not the instant classic that the first film delivered). Currently, they are considered doing more films in the series.
Your idea would be an interesting way to approach it as well. And it does not necessarily have to be linked to Man from Earth. You might consider putting together a pilot script and see if there is interest.

Shouldn't the signature drink for the Bobiverse be Jameson?

The first cyberpunk TV series: Max Headroom.
Another one to consider is Agents of SHIELD. Starts out somewhat shaky, but by its third season it really hits its stride and delivers some fun sci fi (and fantasy) television.

He has some pretty deep connections in the entertainment industry, and I have found that he is somewhat reliable. Some of his predictions do not pan out, but that has more to do with the fickle nature of the industry.

About: Cora, a fugitive turned Blade Runner, partners with Olwen, a dying Replicant, to hunt a runaway in a reborn Los Angeles. Together they uncover a truth threatening to destroy their fragile city.

About: War reduced Japan to zero, and Godzilla plunged it into minus. Two years have passed since then, and the country has faced agonizing struggles to achieve recovery and finally reclaim its daily life.
Just as humanity managed to cling to a hard-won peace, a new threat strikes, crushing hope in an instant.
There is no third time. Everything ends here.

Yes, that would make an excellent TV series. And it offers a nice twist on the standard fantasy story.

I have not heard of the Jane Yellowrock books, but they sound interesting and could work as a TV series.
An interesting old sci fi book series that might that might be a good adaptation for television is E.E. Doc Smith's Lensmen. It would definitely need some updating--the first book was published in 1948--but it could be turned into a decent space opera for television.

Here's a deep dive for you: Persons Unknown which aired Summer 2010 on NBC. I would not call it a great series, and ot was cancelled without resolving its storylines, but it does have its moments and plenty of dystopian themes. You will have to buy it on DVD or VOD, but you can get it relatively inexpensively.
