If its really DD and Cyclops then the last line might suggest that we are getting vanguard cyclops if he comes next.

But isn’t that the problem? Doing “mental gymnastics” for gambit was a huge appeal for his character and the strategist role as he was the fresh take in a role that at that point, was very rigid. Now the role keeps getting new gameplay style and has a healthy amount of players.

I love your list and while I do agree that they make for great tanks they are also the kind of character that reinforces the current perception with vanguard role.

Imo Safe character picks for the vanguard role is what will kill the game. Look at how many player switched to playing strategist because of gambit.

Everything dps cyclops can do can easily be translated and enhance with him as a tank. His play style can still reward precision but with the added element if being the person to control engagement :)
