Correct. Banks and other financial companies now routinely ask all customers to confirm tax domicile and residency status, tax identifiers, whether you've ever had US residency and so on. One reason is they are required under a US law to share financial information about any US citizens with the IRS. The law is called FATCA (The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) if you want to look it up. It's an example of a US law which is imposed Worldwide and costs non US institutions a fortune to comply with.

It should say "May every day be another wonderful secret".....

Love that he's trying to explain how this can be more or less "racist" "depending on the ethnicity and kind of food". So if your default (mentally deranged) understanding is that "going for an Indian" means an act of cannibalism, then going for another ethnicity is somehow worse? WTAF..

The dog probably heard the material creaking and buckling before it collapsed.

Any wall will need repair if you "hit it hard" so I don't understand the point there. Best option is not to crash your car into your house.

Those tubes are good for carrying and storing arrows. They are adjustable length with a twist on lid and a carrying strap. To be honest, they are the best item in this picture!!

Thanks. Have you managed to heal incapacitated officers? I'm using the latest beta and if you put the crosshairs on an officer who is on the floor after being hit, "Heal" shows up in the quick command box (the one that will be executed using space bar) but I haven't been able to get them to resurrect a fallen colleague yet!

Thanks. To me a tip on a drive through order is ridiculous enough! I mean the simple act of handing you food through a window should be baked into the price?

Is that even on self checkout machines I wonder? I can see it happening. Do your own shopping, scan it, pack it and check it out yourself... Suggested tip 20%.

You can adjust the nocking point for free. That is the location on the string where you put your arrow. Try raising it a small amount (a few millimeters at a time). It should encourage the arrow to "lift" on release which could reduce the amount of hand contact.

Thanks. Sounds very annoying! Sounds like what I have experienced today is a bug or something..

Is one of the "pranks" to disable the "check" button on the last question of a lesson so you can't finish it?
That's happened to me a couple of times today!

Feathers do have a quill, which can cut into you quite badly if it's not covered up (some use a suitable glue to "top and tail" the feather or some material wrapped around the leading edge). Your issue may also be indicative of something like the nocking point being too low. You can get bow hand gloves, here's one example - Buck Trail Natural Bow Hand Protector Glove | Merlin Archery
Plastic vanes are not used by many if any ELB shooters though.

Nothing much. Most of the time you will have a nocking point tied on (or crimped on in the case of brass nock points) which help to locate the arrow nock in a consistent place every shot. With the string upside down, the nocking point will be in completely the wrong place. Aside from that, nothing really.

I think they'd have stated it in fractional weeks! Decimal is unAmerican!!

Thanks for a bit of balance on this. Growing up I was good friends with a kid whose family owned a traditional (for Britain) suburban Chinese takeaway, back in the 80's and it was a place that did mainly Cantonese food and fish and chips. The family had emigrated from Hong Kong in the 70's I think.
He used to have to work there and I used to get a lot of stories about some of the customers they had. Many of them that ordered this sort of stuff were drunk, according to him, going in there after a night at the pub. He once told me that these customers often asked for poppadoms (or "pompadoms" as he claimed a lot of them pronounced it) to go along with their fried rice, chips and curry sauce or whatever, despite these definitely not being traditional for these places, so they started selling them to keep them happy. But you could definitely go and order more typical Cantonese food that was not all deep fried as well.
These places are also different from more upmarket Chinese restaurants you will be more likely to find in larger towns and cities which normally don't sell chips and chip shop items, but might still have curry dishes on the menu as it's so heavily ingrained in British-Chinese cuisine.

Considering anything to do with courts will cost a fortune, even if it goes nowhere, and US aid to England is the square root of f all, maybe that's not such a bad idea. Just not for the reasons the oop thinks.

I think an ad like this is a violation of Apple's terms about misleading marketing, so you should report it to them. AI Clean Kit is the violator. I'm not sure how much control Duolingo has over the ads that are shown in the app - I imagine it's through a third party service.

Perhaps Vance or Peter Thiel then?

The recent news that they are planning to require many tourists to submit 5 years of their social media history as part of the entry requirements is really going to make it an even more attractive country to visit...

I was going to say, there are these explanations in the app for each unit, but it doesn't really push them or encourage you to read them.

I played it on an old Intel Macbook Pro (2014 model) which had a GTX750M GPU. It ran just fine. I had Windows 10 installed through BootCamp. It was effectively the same as running it on a native Windows laptop.
If you're talking one of the Apple Silicon (ARM) models, then these don't have BootCamp, but Windows 11 ARM can run in software like Parallels or VMWare Fusion, and Windows on ARM has an emulation layer for software written for Windows x86. I can't comment on performance of this, but from what I've read many "less demanding" games (and SWAT 4 is over 20 years old) can work OK.
There is also a compatibility layer approach which doesn't involve installing Windows and instead uses a WINE environment to run Windows software. Crossover is an example of this (note it is paid software). It allows running Windows games under Mac OS on both Intel and Apple Silicon based models. I can't comment on whether it works well with SWAT 4 but there's a trial option. There's also a free option called Whisky which might work, but is for Apple Silicon only, not Intel.
