I had to bleed mine a few weeks. I followed this video and had really good results with method 2. https://youtu.be/ZJmJB2ppUQY?is=2AVHJFG548bmDdou

I’d replace

Man I love that trail
justsomegary
Yes, but it takes more like 5-10 minutes, and it’s 1000x worth it to be able to brake reliably and predictably.

Deity Deftraps. Owned multiple pairs of Chesters too and the Deftraps grip much better imo

Made the switch recently myself and the most noticeable difference has been more traction on technical climbs which is nice. I don’t think the cost of maintenance is really that much different imo.

I have a pair of their colder gloves and the cuffs being super loose around the wrist really bothers me

I was offered a brand new chisel comp hardtail but wasn’t interested so am opting to upgrade with the discount.

They said they didn’t have and fuse frames or bikes available anymore. I did upgrade the fork to a fox 34 and drivetrain to Deore 11sp so would probably try to sell the fork. Just had it serviced a couple months ago and haven’t been able to ride too much since.
justsomegary
I really did like my fuse and was hoping to make it last a few more years, but believe it or not this was actually the 2nd time I cracked the chainstay on one, both times after about 2 years of riding. I had a 2020 fuse initially and had it warrantied for a 22 fuse sport in September 2023. Was riding that up until last week then the same exact thing happened, a hairline fracture right along the outside weld where it meets the BB. I don’t think it was one hit that did it probably just the cumulative abuse it had taken. Probably worth noting both of mine were alloy frames and not the top line models which I think use a different alloy. And I can be pretty hard on my bikes.

I’m about your height and ride a medium 2020 Demo but I’m done growing and have short legs for my height. Medium bikes usually fit me perfectly, but if you have longer legs for your height then a large might feel better especially if you think you’ll grow a bit more.
justsomegary
Good point. The more I think about it the more I think that’s what I’ll do!
justsomegary
My bad I missed that. Honestly I think the chisel comp evo is right up my alley and would be perfect for like 80-90% of my local riding but also feel like there would be some situations where I’d still worry about the durability or want something with a bit more travel.
justsomegary
I think I would enjoy the chisel on mellower trails but I’m also riding trails with some decent chunk and larger features where it wouldn’t be practical and I feel I would probably end up destroying it. So for that reason I’m pretty set on a full suspension. I’m not overly concerned about the stumpys weight because I’ve typically ridden heavier bikes and also tend to beat on them a bit, but you have a point about it being a bit overkill and I could definitely be tempted to splurge on a carbon model.
justsomegary
Looks freaking sweet! Yeah I’m pretty set on the stumpy, and the carbon expert in green is dream bike status but depends how much of a discount I can get. I’m just not sure if it makes more sense to go with the 20-35% discount from specialized or try to resell the chisel as new for a discount. I’m guessing I would spend less reselling the chisel but unsure how easy it would be to sell.
justsomegary
The 25lb part sounds great lol but I’m convinced I would break the frame or taco a wheel within the first year and can’t really see myself on a 100mm fork.
justsomegary
“These people” yeah let’s just lump all 16 million veterans together. Give me a break you self righteous twats
justsomegary
You’re tapped
justsomegary
Bike park is usually the only place I don’t ride alone
justsomegary
Depends on what you’re riding but for 3k you could build a really nice custom hardtail.
justsomegary
For what it’s worth I had that frame and it cracked on the weld where the chain stay meets the bottom bracket. Got it warrantied for a 2023 fuse and the welds on it are much beefier.
