Yeah, they do. Just go to the website and click on them, they animate like when they take damage. (Don't know why someone down voted that without explaining why.)

kapl103

Let's be honest. The only reason Sam was made so Laura and by extension the developers could dodge the "colonizer," accusations. Why else would she be a direct descendent of Himiko? And yet for some reason Sam isn't the protagonist, when she really should be.

kapl103

Wrong. Black Clover and Fairy Tail are incredibly mid and they even managed to give their heriones something to do.

kapl103

Her parents are not important but Ino, Choji, and Shikamaru's parents are? Even if its filler we get to see Kiba's mom. Come on man stop lowering your standards.

kapl103

The amount of unironic sexism people like you engage in is astounding. Your reducing the female characters down to their appearance.

kapl103

And yet they are all still terribly written. 90% of them have motivations that begin and end with men if they have any motivations at all. And no filler dosn't save them.

kapl103

Watch it if you want just be honest about why your watching it.

kapl103

So it's her fault because her shot got popular? How is she supposed to control that? You do realize this kind of Standard is what scares marginalized creators out of creating anything that they truly care about. Lord knows I wouldn't want this kind of baggage.

kapl103

For you examples that would depend. Black folks like Leshawna from Total Drama Island and she's a sassy black girl stereotype and the only black woman in the show.

There is a meaningful difference between someone having a character preferences or making in community jokes and someone trying to demean a group of people. And writing is how you determine the difference.

Also your using the term gaslighting wrong. Im critiquing your standards of what you call "fetishizing." And for something to be fetishizing it has to ignore actual writing. The character would have to only exist as props for entertainment or gratification. If your writing characters with arcs, struggles, and distinct personalities. Its not fetishizing.

Again, not saying the shows are written well, they aren't but writing does play a major part in whether or not something is fetishizing. And if you ignore that part then everything is going to tick that box for you.

But considering your petulant attitude I doubt your going to recognize that. So Ill let you go. Have nice day.

kapl103

Gives it to whom? This show is for adults who should know the difference between real people and a tv show. As for bigots, they don't need a show to make them the way.

But to your previous comment. None of what you mentioned would address the shows writing problem. Its all superficial things you just don't like.

Boring character design isn't harmful and I never said you could criticize the show. My issue is that you think calling someone a fetishizer of gay men, isn't a serious accusation to make.

kapl103

Okay, now answer the 2nd part of my question. Whats the harm in the show being what it is?

kapl103

Considering how hell bent (no pun intended), you are on behind dishonest. Let me ask you.

What would "good representation," look like and whats the harm in the show being what it is?

kapl103

I love how dishonest you people get when someone dares to call out your bad behavior.

You thought I was talking about Trans people?

No, I was talking about the entitled brats in the lgbt+ community who can't go 5 minutes without eating one of there own.

kapl103

Again besides from bad writing. Whats the harm in this?

kapl103

People like you don't deserve "good representation," whatever that looks like.

kapl103

I have to ask. Whats the harm? Bigots are not going to stop being bigots because of a tv show. And "good representation," is such a subjective metric that practically impossible to meet. And why is it her or anyone's responsibility to make "good representation"?

kapl103

The truth is that media that people call "dark/gruesome," is only called that by American media standards. What's weird is how recent this is. Batman the animated series, Code Lyoko, Totally Spies, and tons of other shows from the 90s and 2000s had content that would never fly today. But you don't see people calling that "dark."

kapl103

(This is coming from a former RWBY fan by the way)

Modern RWBY fans only like the show because it has the tropes they like and avoids the ones they don't. They are not interested in good storytelling or interesting character arcs. They are no different than all the weebs who watch generic power fantasy, isekai slop. (Except those weebs will at least admit to you and themselves that they know its garbage)

kapl103

Its fine not to like a popular thing (I personally don't like Metaphor for a variety of reason, namely the calendar system really led to a lot of narrative dissonance.)

Just own it. If a game doesn't vibe with you then it doesn't. You don't need to justify it unless you want to.

kapl103

People out here really talking down about one of the few devs in the gaming industry that treat gaming like an art form.

I know some people have the attention span of gold fish and throw a tantrum whenever a game dares to ask you to pay attention and follow a narrative but this is ridiculous.

kapl103

Nah bro, he's not pretentious, you just don't like it when game sits you down and tries to tell you a story.

kapl103

Maybe for some but if you reflexive have that opinion whenever somene tries to critique Hazbin/Helluva then your giving the haters ammunition.

kapl103

This isn't a satire its a parody. PSG isnt' trying to critique western media, its just a show made by people who like western media, see megas XLR as a western example.

Also this line: "hazbin hotel trying to have a serious plot with it's humor," is a fair criticism. Hazbin Hotel and Helluva boss's humor can sometimes clash with its intended message. For example the show makes a joke about Moxie and Sir Pentious getting SA'd despite treating abuse very seriously with Angel Dust.

Don't ignore fair criticism just because its coming from someone you don't like.

kapl103

So its the anime equivalent of tiktok/youtube brain rot?

kapl103

Solo leveling and its fans are hated because they're dishonest. They don't like the show for what it is but rather what it isn't. Rather than branching out and watching something other than shounen, they just want shounen to stop catering to its intended audience of young boys and cater to a bunch of adults too ashamed to admit they only watch shows for kids

But thats just my 2 cents on the show and its following.
