It’s not uncommon to have no symptoms and normal labs with liver disease, even compensated cirrhosis. I didn’t know until I was in the ER decompensated 💚

You’re not wasting time on nutrition. It’s what helped me recompensated and gain back weight. The Mediterranean diet is highly recommended. The main thing is to eat clean so your liver doesn’t have to filter harmful crap. Salt is bad for everyone but for us worsens fluid retention substantially. Generally we need higher protein to prevent malnourishment and liver health. I was down to 90lbs with muscle wasting when I was diagnosed 💚

Good for you for quiting 💚 A lot of us quite after being in the ER decompensated

Cirrhosis can be present at the time of abstinence and not be discovered for years. OTC (or Rx) meds, supplements, processed foods, can all progress cirrhosis if the damage is already there 💚

Cirrhosis is a very unpredictable disease. Of course we will all see our last day but it’s possible to die with cirrhosis and not from it. There is a higher chance of Liver cancer with cirrhosis, it’s one of the reasons we need diagnostics every 6 months. The meds we take are to control decompensated symptoms, a beta blocker, diuretics and lactulose are the ones most of us take. He has to take his health seriously bc it’s up to us to get our livers functioning again 💚

Keep in mind that many things can affect labs. A lot of people are dx with compensated cirrhosis with normal labs. You need the diagnostics to find out how your liver is. In the meantime try to eat a clean diet and no alcohol at all, no matter the cause 💚

Hot Wheels has some buses. Perhaps one would look similar

That pisses me right off 😡 They shouldn’t give a timeline at this point with liver disease. I’m in a group of over 30k members and have heard so many stories about patients sent home to die, put on hospice, and many have recompensated to the point of being removed from the transplant list. The liver is a very complicated organ. 💚

Alcoholic hepatitis is very serious, but hepatitis isn’t automatically permanent cirrhosis. Some people recover enough with sustained sobriety and medical care that they don’t need a transplant. The fact that you’re already home and focusing on sobriety and treatment is meaningful—but your doctors will need to follow your liver function over time to see how much recovery occurs.”
I was diagnosed with decompensated cirrhosis myself and was incredibly sick, with decompensated symptoms. I’ve since recompensated and have been stable for over 2 years. Everyone’s situation is different, so I’m not saying that will necessarily be your outcome—but the liver can sometimes recover far more than you initially think. I have some permanent issues and know things could go downhill at some point but I’m living a pretty normalish life. Don’t give up hope, and keep doing exactly what your medical team tells you.
P.S. I’m in Edmonton

It’s a very unpredictable disease and a timeline really can’t be given. With time
and work I was able to recompensate. I was very ill when I was decompensated but slowly improved. Some decline but I’ve seen many w ho we’re literally sent home on hospice who improved enough to be taken off the transplant by listening to. End stage is cirrhosis but it doesn’t mean end of life. It’s been 3!years for myself 💚

The RollerDrome and Sportsworld!

Generally, with liver disease, the meds we take are to control symptoms. I was dx with decompensated cirrhosis but I’m now recompensated and no longer on meds except for carvedilol💚

I was wondering about this 195 days ago and rumblings are surfacing

I just got quoted $11,000 just for extractions 😭

Thank you! I’d really like to go there for the location 😊

Don’t listen to Google! The stats Google gives are life expectancy with no diet and lifestyle change. I’m in a group in which many people have been compensated or recompensated for 10+ years… some as many as 20. I was dx decompensated 2.5 years ago and have been recompensated for a year now 💚

I follow them on fb and have seen some fabulous things. I’ve just messaged them to see if they extend outside of the US

I have a neighbor with 2 they leave out and they’re barkers. I’m lucky that my dog isn’t the type to join in
